Chapter 2- Diver down

maddi's pov-

I run to my room and throw on a pair of nike shorts and a white tank top. I walk back into the living room and JJ already swept up the glass shards from the floor. Jj and I hop onto the couch which is still pulled out from the night before. 

"what do you want to watch?" he ask as I grab a blanket and throw it across my legs. I turn to him with a grin.

"no" he says, I giggle at his reaction."please" I say while puffing out my bottom lip and giving him puppy dog eyes. 

"fine" he says as he rolls his eyes. I get up and put dirty dancing in the dvd player. I lay next to JJ as the movie starts.

"I don't get why her parents hate him so much" JJ says after we were about halfway into the movie. I laugh at him and was about to reply when I heard the porch door slam shut. Me and JJ both sit up and look at the door when John b came in. He walked in drenched in water and sat on the arm rest and started to take his shoes off.

"ugh get up, your going to ruin the coach" I snap at him. He stuck his tongue out at me and told me to shut up, typical sibiling things. 

"what are ya'll watching" he questions looking at the tv.

"dirty dancing" I say in a cheerful tone. Jb looks at JJ and laughs 

"she got you to watch dirty dancing man, wow weak" he says making JJ flip him off. 

"you have no room to talk John b, I got you to watch the notebook before" I say making JJ laugh at John b. We invite John b to watch the movie with us but of course he declines. He walks into the kitchen to grab some food and when he walks out he noticed dads picture was broken.

"what happened to dads picture" he asked as he picked up the broken picture. I looked at JJ and he grabbed my hand and gave it a slight sqeeze as he replied to my brother.

"it fell off the wall earlier" He told John b then looked over at me with a soft smile still holding my hand. After talking to Jb for a few minutes he goes to bed and me and JJ play the movie again. I start to doze off towards the end and feel JJ cover me up with a blanket. I wake up a couple hours later with JJ's arm wrapped around me, I scoot closer to him and go back to sleep.

"yo JJ man, have you been outside" John B says as JJ groans and tells John b "I can't walk I have polio"

I sit up and stretch, I climb over JJ and stand up. I grab a flannel shirt off the chair, JJ and John b leave their shirts all around the house so I don't know who's shirt im wearing but I don't really care. I walk outside and cross my arms seeing the mess the hurricane caused. Branches were spread all over the yard and one of the trees was basically ripped out of the ground. I hear JJ come out behind me and whistle 

" agatha sure did some work didn't she" JJ said I shake my head in agreement and walk over to my brother who was pulling branches of the boat. 

"whatcha thinking" I ask my brother as I help Jb clean off the boat.

"i'm thinking the storm surge pushed all the crabs out of marsh maze and all those drums are gonna chase the crabs" John be said while hopping on the boat. 

"what about dcs?" jj questions.

"ain't no way they'll get on a ferry after a big storm" John b tells him as I nodd at JJ.
