"Can I please come stay with you, I know because of quarantine it's not really allowed but I can't shake this uneasy feeling." This was my third phone call, basically begging my friends to let me stay with them until this situation dies down.
"Alexis, of course you can. We will still maintain the six feet rule, but you're more than welcome to stay with me." I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Sleeping at night had been a whole battle, as soon as I would drift off to sleep I felt as though someone was standing over me, watching me sleep. My body would jolt into a sitting position as the feeling overcame my body. Sweat would pour down me after my night terror, making it impossible to fall back asleep.
"Thank you so much Ella, I'll be there as soon as I can. You have no idea how much I appreciate it." I hung up the phone and immediately starting packing up my bags. Nala looked up at me with a confused look as I rummaged through the house making sure I grabbed everything.
With my hands full and Nala following close behind me I made my way out the front door and reached my car. My mouth fell open as I saw somebody had taken a brick to my front window. I quickly ran back into my apartment and locked the door as soon as Nala and I were both inside safe.

My Uber shortly pulled up to my house and I quickly got into the car. The ride was full of pointless conversation, but I could help my mind wandering other places.
The car approached the front of Ella's house. I grabbed all of my things and made my way up her front steps. I was met by a smiling women holding the door open for me.
"Good morning darling" Ella's mother greets me and I walk into their lovely home.
Ella was raised very wealthy, her mother is a nurse and her father is a police officer. We have been friends for years now and I know I can always count on her. I'm beyond blessed her and her family have allowed me to stay with them for the time being especially under the circumstances.
"There's food in the kitchen waiting for you." Her mom explains to me and I rush into the kitchen, I'm starving.
The table is set as if it's thanksgiving dinner. The entire table is covered with different dishes. I guess this is what happens when people are under quarantine, huh?
"Alexis!!" A familiar voice screeches from behind me. I turn and I am met with Ella with one of the biggest smiles I had ever seen and her arms stretched out. I ran into her arms and we hugged each other for a few moments.
Her and I sat at the table talking about my whole situation. She seems genuinely scared for me. She's the first person who's not only trying to reassure me but also scared with me.
We spent the day eating and watching movies. Finally, my mind wasn't constantly on that one topic and I could actually have a nice time.
My phone started ringing and I dismissed myself from the movie.
"Hey baby what's up?" I asked after answering the phone.
"Nothin, just thinking about you. You looked beautiful today." He said, making me laugh.
"You haven't even seen me today baby, you don't even know how I look today." I smiled.
"Uh I know, but you're always beautiful." His tone of voice changed slightly, giving me a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach.
"I'm staying with my friend for a while, get this. Nala had somehow got out and this weird man had returned her. She had a fucking camera on her collar. I had changed in front of her." I said reliving the moments and cringing at the thought of the owner of that camera watching my naked body.
"That's absolutely crazy, I hope you're staying with a good friend baby, stay safe for me. I gotta go now, I'll talk to you soon my love." He said making me smile again.
I returned to Ella's room and we continued watching friends. Her and I have loved this show for god knows how long.
My mind again wandered to my car. I have to get that fixed tomorrow. Who would do that? And why? My thoughts overpowered my mind and I soon fell asleep.
