Chapter Seven

The weeks truly have flown by and the pandemic is just getting worse. They don't plan to lift the lockdown for another few months, as long as the numbers go down. My mom and dad's test both came back negative which took a lot of weight off of my shoulders.

Jeremy and I still have been talking nonstop. We have been talking about seeing each other within the next week, which I don't really mind as long as we do keep the pandemic in mind and follow all of the criteria. I just want to meet him, be able to sit face to face and talk instead of over the phone.

I feel as if I'm losing my mind in some way. Little things in my apartment keep coming up missing, or I'm just misplacing them. First it was the pistol, then was my matching set of underwear, then one of my decorative towels in my kitchen and then my pandora bracelet my grandma had given me years ago before she passed away. I don't know if it's just the quarantine getting to me but I truly feel like I'm losing my mind.

The only thing keeping me sane is Ashleigh's order.  I have been working on it consistently since it came in. She chose the two separate items she wanted and I added them to her cart with no charge. Her entire order is completely finished, it's ready for me to take to her house.

'Ashleigh, thank you for your big order. Stay safe and healthy through this unknown time. I hope you love your items as much as I loved making them.'
Sincerely, Alexis Gray

As I finished the small note I attached it with ribbon to her order. Smiling, I grabbed the boxes and carried them out into my car after putting Nala inside of her crate and locking the front door behind me.

I put her address into my GPS and made my way. The address is only about a half an hour from my apartment. I let the music blast inside my car as I let all of my worries fade.

I made a few stops before reaching her house, but as I pulled up I realized I was basically in the middle of nowhere. As I walked up her steps I set the boxes down and rang her door bell. Before she had the chance to answer I proceeded to my car unlocking it as I took the last step off of the porch. I took in the scenery while doing so, I was surrounded by crops and animals all around.

I've always wanted to live in an area like this, no one to bother me and I can just be at peace. I passed my car and continued to walk towards one of the fences.

"Hi little guy." I said admiring one of the little cows chewing on grass. I smiled at him as another cow joined him. I spun around looking at all the other fields filled with horses and cows.

My concentration was stopped as I felt a cold object press to my temple and a hand cover my mouth. My heart began to rase as my attempts to scream were muffled by a black glove pressed to my lips.

The smell of chloroform fulfilled my senses and I could feel my body start to become heavy. The hand covering my mouth moved to my waist and tightened in the attempt to drag my lifeless body. I tried to fight, but blackness overcame me.
