This is my first poem, I'm not fond of poems but my Writerhood (Austalis) posted an activity abt us choosing between Opportunity and Family, Relationship and Career through a poem and this is what I came up with~

Family and Career
He who gave us a family,
A family that only comes once in a lifetime.
Tho, I may be someone who's done a lot of crimes,
But I will always put my family first in line.
Indeed, opportunities are hard to find,
The door of hope is what they keep in mind
Always there and open, waiting to be entered
Opportunities may come and go, but never be self-centered.
My family is my priority and choice,
Head held high, having no regrets about my decision.
My family over these opportunities is what I've decided
And I'm pretty confident that I'm not one sided.
Being in a relationship is quite nice,
Wanting to spend your lifetime with them, not thinking twice.
A hand being offered when you're down and most vulnerable time,
Oh how nice it is to call you 'mine'.
My career that's about to change my whole life,
A chance to redeem myself.
For a better future, I will strive
For this is my only chance to survive.
Both career and relationship are crucial,
But my decision might seem brutal.
Something that's close to the word 'success'
My career is indeed like you've guessed.
Forgive me my love for this sudden change,
For my decision is quite strange.
My love, this is no goodbye,
For you are still part of my life.
