Entertaining the Detective

It's been a month. 50 days to be correct and at this point, the plan Lawliet has will be put into action. He just needs to get Mr. Yagami out of confinement and tell him the plan. When that happened I made sure everyone stayed outside of the room. When they left the room Mr. Yagami looked relieved about the situation.

   " It's been decided that in three days the plan will be put into action. Only Mr. Yagami, myself, Y/n, and Mogi will know the plan. " Lawliet said leaving the room with Mr. Yagami.

   " Mogi? Why Mogi? " Matsuda asked.

   " Mr. Yagami asked to have somebody with him when the plan is conducted. He says he would feel comfortable if someone were there with him. So we decided Mogi would travel with Mr. Yagami. "

   " No! " I shouted.

Everyone looked at me. I stood up from my seat and looked at everyone in the room. I lowered my voice but made sure I showed them that I need their attention.

   " Mogi can't go with you, Mr. Yagami. "

   " Why? What's wrong with having a friend come with me? "

   " It isn't part of the story. Originally Mr. Yagami goes alone. Mogi must not go with you. No one should. I'm afraid to inform you all that something has already changed. It was a minor detail but it changed. I can't fix it now but I'm not letting anything else change. "

   " ... "

They all stayed quiet. Their eyes fell to the floor not knowing what to think. I walked up to Mr. Yagami and held his arm.

   " Mr. Yagami if you go alone it will only continue the story like it is supposed to. It will also show that it is a very special moment between you and your son. He won't be able to see through the plan if you are alone without anyone with you but Misa. It's a desperate moment between father and son. "

   " She's right, but someone must go with him. " L said stepping in.

   " I'll go. "

   " What? " Everyone said with complete confusion.

   " I'll go. That way nothing would change. Mr. Yagami can act and I'll be there to become moral support for him in case he falters. You can say your lines and then make up a reason for me being there. You can say that I'm making sure the story goes as planned or that I'm saying goodbye to them. Anything. You just can't let Mogi, Aizawa, Matsuda, or Ryuzaki go with you. It would change the story and I can't let that happen. " I said to Mr. Yagami.

Mr. Yagami's old eyes looked at me as I stood beside him. His hand lifted from his side and rubbed my head in a fatherly gesture.

   " Alright, you can come with me. "

   " Thank you. " I said letting out a sigh of relief.

When the discussion was over with Mr. Yagami was allowed to go home with his script and see his family. The plan would start in three days. I went to the kitchen and grabbed some sweets and walked back to the living room. I set some of the sweets in front of Lawliet.

   " Thank you. "

   " Yup. "

   " What changed? "

   " Hmm? "

   " Earlier, you said that something already changed. What changed? "

   " I don't know if I should tell you. "

   " Because it might disturb something? "

   " Exactly. "

   " If it's just me I don't think it'll destroy anything. "

   ' You only think that because you don't think you are important in the story. '

   " Fine. When you were apprehending Misa Amane Mogi was supposed to apprehend her not Aizawa. "

   " That explains your odd behavior that day after she was apprehended. "

   " Yes, I wasn't able to fix it because Misa was already apprehended when you told me. "

   " I see. "

   " Yeah, that's why I'm paying more attention to everything from now on. "

   " Alright, I understand. "

I sat with Lawliet and mainly just stared at the cameras. I wasn't tired or anything so I decided to stay with Ryuzaki.

   " How will the plan go tomorrow? "

   " I can't tell you that. "

   " So, you're not too tired to tell me the future. What a shame. "

   " I'm never doing that again. When I'm tired I'm going to bed. "

   " Please do. I care about your health and you need sleep. "

   " Not tonight. I'm not that tired. "

   " Then you can keep me entertained while watching these cameras. "

   " How would I entertain you? "

   " Like this. "

I felt it before I could look and see what he was doing. I started laughing at the feeling of being tickled. I tried to get up and get out of the chair but his arm secured me to his side and he continued to tickle me. He kept tickling me and I was wheezing at this point.

   " R-R-Ryuzaki! Stop! "

   " Why? This is very entertaining. "

   " Because I can't breathe! "

He tickled me a little longer before pulling his hand away. I started taking deep breaths and tried to get the redness on my face to decrease. When it finally did I felt a hand on top of my head. Lawliet put his hand on my head and started running his hand through my hair and he started to pet my head.

   " Your laugh is quite cute. "

I didn't reply. I only looked away from him. I didn't want him to see the blush that appeared on my face.
