𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐚 sat behind the counter of the gas station, she had just got job there and was mostly excited about working there. Nailea will only work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights because she still has school. She took night shifts on weekends because she always had to be somewhere when the sun was out. No matter if that was with friends or going to spend time with her grandma.
Nailea was lost in her thoughts until she heard the ding of the door open, the girl still wasn't fully out of her thoughts while she spoke her sentence so she never got a good look at the boy who walked in. "Hi, welcome to Mobil." All the girl got back was a quiet 'hey' as the boy walked into an aisle she couldn't see well.
She sighed thinking the boy was going to be rude. She rested her jaw on the palm of her hand and awaited for the boy to get what he wanted
Alejandro wasn't in all of a great mood, he was failing English and his mom was not happy about it. It wasn't soccer season so he didn't get why she was so mad, he didn't care about his grades unless it was soccer. All he wanted to do was play the sport. She started yelling at him once again about the grade until Alejandro stood up and left grabbing his car keys beforehand. He didn't know where he was going, he just wanted to get out of the house.
He ended up here, a gas station.
He looked down the candy aisle, his hands stuffed into his grey nike sweatpants. He looked at all the candy almost gagging once he saw the chocolate. Boy Alejandro just couldn't stand chocolate. He'd rather eat canned dog food he told himself.
Alejandro then saw the brightly colored sour patch kids bag and shrugged his shoulders at the candy, picking it up. He looked at the one bag then grabbed another, he knew he wouldn't be satisfied with just one once he got in the car.
Nailea was behind the counter still picking at her nails as two bags of sour patch kids were set down. She looked up at the customer and instantly felt insecure around him. The boy had nice tan skin, jet black hair that curled at the tips, and brown eyes that complimented him perfectly. She almost simped over a boy she had never met.
Once the girl looked at Alejandro he instantly got butterflies in his stomach. She had long brown hair that was wavy, nice clear skin, and brown eyes just like his own. Nailea took the two bags and scanned them. He looked at her name tag and read the words, "Nailea." He liked the name, it fit the girl really well. "Uh that'll be four dollars and ten cents." Nailea said looking at the register. Alejandro nodded taking his wallet out and grabbing a five. He handed it to Nailea as she opened the register handing him his fifty cents.
"So your name is Nailea." Alejandro said, grabbing his candy. "How'd you know?" The girl asked with confusion written all over her face. "Your name tag." Alejandro flashed a smile as he turned walking out the door.
