𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 a deep sigh as she hit her bed making it squeak. She had just gotten back from a very long cheer practice, it was almost 6 hours long. She even had to take work off because it was till 11pm.

The only reason her gym was making her work so hard was because of how nationals were next week. She'd be traveling to Miami, Florida for nationals. She was very excited to go, she loved warm weather.

She wasn't able to check her phone for the six hours because she was too busy training, so once she flopped on her bed she pulled her phone out of the pocket of her Nike sweats.

She was surprised to see that Alejandro had texted her. Her face lit up, happy to see the boy's name in her phone again.

She quickly opened the message and read,

"Could we meet up somewhere? I really want to talk to you."

Nailea's face went from happy to confused, what couldn't he talk to her over text?

"Yeah ofc! How about we meet up at Hamptons park at 12?"

Nailea only said 12 so she could shower and not smell horrible when she saw Alejandro for the first time. She didn't want to look bad in front of him, she thought it must be a girl thing.

"Yeah that sounds good, i'll see you there."

Nailea smiled as she grabbed a pair of clean spandex and a hoodie as she walked to the bathroom to shower not knowing how serious the talk would be.

Alejandro on the other dropped his phone on his chest and felt hot steamy tear roll down his face as he laid on his bed staring at his ceiling. He had a lump in his throat and felt as if he was going to be sick.

The taste of blood filtered his mouth, he had been hit in the mouth which made his tooth cut his cheek badly. The dominican boy also had a cut under his eye from being hit with a glass plate. He was very lucky the plate missed his eye.

The boy's body had cuts everywhere, new ones and old ones. He protected his brother the best he could from locking him in the bathroom, locking him out of the house anything Alejandro could do to protect him.

He looked at the time on his phone and read 12:44. Time passed fast when you thought about life hard enough. The boy stood up grabbing his car keys and walking out of his bedroom quietly shutting the door. All Alejandro was worried about was waking his mother.

Once he had quietly walked to the front door he opened it as quietly as possible and walked out of the house shutting the door behind him and making his way to his car.
