Alejandro sat on a blanket on the grass hill of hampton park, the park didn't have any benches where he was so he grabbed a blanket out of his trunk that was for soccer games.
He hugged his knees and looked at the stars that lit up the night more bright than ever, he took in a deep breath of the warm night air and for the first time in a long time the boy felt relaxed.
Out of all the things going on in his life he finally felt like everything was perfect, almost as if his life was perfect.
Nailea had arrived at the park where she saw from her car window Alejandro sitting on the hill looking at the stars. Nailea thought he looked peaceful and almost felt out of place if she sat next to him.
Nailea pulled the car keys out of the ignition and opened her car door and got out. Nailea felt butterflies in her stomach, she had never felt so nervous, and she has performed in front of many people because of cheer.
But I guess talking to someone you like is way more nerve wracking then doing a routine in front of a lot of people.
She shut her car door behind her and made her way to the hill.
Nailea slowly made her way up the hill, and once she was almost to the top Alejandro had turned around. Nailea's heart dropped once she saw the boy's face, he had bags under his eyes and cuts on his face.
"Hey Nail."
Nailea stood there for another second looking at the boy's face.
"Hi Ale."
Nailea said as she took a seat next to him.
"What did you need to talk about?"
Nailea asked quietly as she hugged her knees. Alejandro took a deep breath knowing this wouldn't be an easy conversation.
"So i'm sure you saw my face by now,"
Alejandro started running his fingers through his hair.
"It's from my mom, she's been hitting me a lot recently and she never has. I don't know what I did to make her start doing this but I just don't know how to stop it."
Nailea looked at Alejandro who had his head hung low.
"Ale why did you not tell me this?"
The boy stayed quiet for a while not wanting to say why because he knew it would make her feel bad.
"I didn't want you to leave me because of it."
His voice said cracking, as tears welled in his brown eyes.
"Ale I would never ever leave you because of this, I want to help you."
"I don't think you can Nail, I don't know any way out other than just ending it all."
The once happy boy Nailea saw every Saturday night to get two bags of Sour Patch Kids was now at his lowest point in life, her heart shattered once she heard his words of ending it.
"It wouldn't even make a difference if I was go-"
Alejandro was cut of by Nailea hugging him tightly,
"Don't ever say that Alejandro, I wouldn't know what to do if I lost you. I know I haven't even known you for three months but you have had the biggest impact on me."
Nailea released from the hug and tears streamed down her face. Alejandro looked into her eyes and she looked back.
Not thinking Nailea grabbed the back of the tanned skinned boy and kissed him. She quickly pulled away realizing what she did and felt heat rise to her face.
"I'm so sorry-"
Alejandro had cut her off by kissing her again.
Before both the teens knew it, they were kissing under the stars.
