The three of you walked into the movie theater. You kept sneaking glances at Stefan. He caught you looking and you put your head down and kept walking. When the three of you got in line to get tickets, you looked at Maddi. "What movie are we seeing anyway?" Maddi just smiled at you. You rolled your eyes at her. You pulled out your wallet to pay for your ticket when Stefan stopped you.
"I got it. I can pay for your ticket." He said trying to be nice. Maddi just stood there watching the situation. She knew that you didn't like people paying for you. She just smiled and shook her head. She knew what was coming because she saw it happen before. You fully turned to look at him.
"Excuse me? Did I ask you to pay for my ticket? And did I ask to come to the stupid movies? No, I don't think I did! I would rather be at home, mourning the death of my parents. Because if you can't tell I kinda have no family left! I don't need your sympathy and I sure don't need you to pay for my ticket!" you yelled not caring if you made a scene. You turned to leave. "Maddi, I'm just gonna head home. Yes, I know that I didn't drive. I can just walk. I'll see you at school tomorrow." Maddi opened her mouth to say something but you just shook your head. You walked out of the movie theatre. You started walking through town. You stopped at your favorite coffee shop. As you walked in, you saw your ex-boyfriend Jayson. You turned to leave when he saw you. You figured that there was no point in leaving if he had already seen you. You walked over to the counter and ordered a large iced coffee. He walked up next to you. "What are you doing here, Jay? You knew that this was my spot. You promised not to come here. Why can't you keep your word?" You turned to look at him. He just looked at you longingly.
"Baby, please. I already said I was sorry." He said pleadingly. You just felt angrier than ever.
"First of all, you don't get to call me baby. You lost that when you cheated on me. Second of all, did you think you could apologize and I'd just forgive you? If you did think that, you are stupider than I thought." You thought that today couldn't get any worse. You just wanted to punch something and cry at the same time. "I told you I loved you! Does that mean nothing to you? I told you I loved you and you cheated on me! And when I confronted you about it, you hit me! Not once! Not twice! But three times! You almost killed me! You broke my ribs! I was covered in bruises for weeks! I couldn't tell anyone because you are the star quarterback! No one would believe that our town's golden boy would hit his girlfriend! So I kept quiet! But I'm done being a girl that people can walk all over!" You grabbed your coffee and walked out of the coffee shop. You ran back to the movie theatre and just waited for Maddi and Stefan. You had a coffee in one hand and your other hand was shaking. An hour later, Maddi and Stefan walked out of the theatre. Maddi saw you sitting against the wall and ran over. She saw the cup and smiled.
"Rose Garden? You haven't been there since..." she stopped as she saw your hand shaking. "Oh, was he there? Honey, what happened?"
"Yeah, he was there. And now the whole town probably knows what happened. I may have exploded" You said with a small chuckle. She looked at you with wide eyes. She shifted her eyes over to Stefan. You shook your head. She nodded and helped you up.
"Let's go home, honey. You've had a rough day. You need some sleep. Thank you, Stefan. I enjoyed tonight. I'll see you at school tomorrow." Maddi said smiling. You and Maddi walked to her car. She got on the driver's side. You got on the passenger's side and stared out the window as she started the car. She drove to her house. When she pulled into her driveway, you hopped out of her car and went to your car. She looked at you as you got in your jeep. "Good night, y/nn. drive home safe. Text me when you get there." You nodded and started your car. You drove the seven miles to your house. When you pulled into your driveway you still saw the police tape. You shut off your car and walked to your front door. You pulled the tape off of the door and walked inside. You turned on the lights and went over to the kitchen. There was still blood on the floor from your parents. You grabbed a bucket and filled it with hot water. After searching for the bleach, you finally were able to start cleaning up the blood. You scrubbed until the floors were completely clean. After the floors were clean, you dumped the bleach in the sink and threw the rag in the fireplace. You started a fire in the fireplace and watched the rag burn. You sat on your couch and stared at the fire for a while. You didn't know what you would do next. You knew that if they can't find any living relatives you would go into the foster system. You tried not to think about that as you stared at the fire. After an hour, you put out the fire and walked to your bathroom. You decided to take a shower. You felt disgusting from even being in the same room as Jayson. You took a shower and got dressed and a pair of black shorts and a black tank top. You went to your bedroom and plugged in your fairy lights. You sat on your bed with your laptop. You watched Netflix for a while before you fell asleep.
