the solstice of winter : beginning of the war

the cold wind blew as the young princess stands in awe while looking at the moon.

the tranquility, peace, and calm were about to vanish as the war slowly approached.

"you seem to be worried, princess." a mellow voice said from behind.

"akaashi." you said as you gave him a smile.

the love you couldn't have

he was one of your most trusted guards. his raven hair flowed as the wind brushed through it. his dark red uniform swayed along with the breeze. he was everything that kept you sane in your confined little place.

"i see you're often staying by the garden." he said while he walked around. you watched him paced back and forth, looking ever so beautiful.

"what are you doing here?" you asked while letting out a small smile.

"this is where my feet told me to go." he said as he walked towards you.

"..the war will be starting soon." he mumbled under his breath. his sharp gaze was eyeing the moon.

he didn't know you loved him. you didn't dare tell him.

"i am one of the chosen palace guards to participate in the war." he said while still eyeing the moon.

"i have heard." you replied.

"but you'll come back, right?" you said as you fixed your hair.

the wind blew even harder, the cold breeze filled the garden as the plants slowly swayed .

"of course i will." he said with his ever so stoic face.

"akaashi?"

"yes, princess?"

"the moon looks beautiful tonight." you said as you smiled.

"and so do you." akaashi said under his breath.
