it was a cold afternoon, the birds began to chirp as the illuminating sky shines a vivid blue. the leaves swayed along with the melody of the wind.

"i want to go out." you said as you could only look out from the window.

you weren't allowed to leave your small sanctuary until the war was handled. all you could do was sit out the window and wander.

"you look like you are in deep thought, princess." you heard your ever trusted guard, akaashi.

"i don't remember how it was like outside this house." you told him as you stared out the window.

"i know i can't go out. its the emperor's orders." you sighed as you faced him.

"i could never fathom to see a sad princess." he said as he offered his hand to you.

"what are you doing?" you asked him.

"i'm taking you outside.." he mumbled, "just for a little while."

"i'll be watching over you. i'll make sure nothing goes wrong." he said once more.

everything about him was wonderful. you took his hand and said, "just for a little while." as you gave him a bright smile.

"you better change into something.. a little less royal." he formed a small smile as you hurriedly ran to change.

the sky was vividly blue. the plants swayed along the melody of the wind, "are you ready?" he asked.

"i am excited." you replied.

he took your hand and the both of you went out the gate, akaashi gave a wink to the other guard and said a small, "shh"

as soon as you both reached the nearest market, it was like looking at a festival. "is it always crowded here?" you asked him.

"its always been like this, princess." he said as he chuckled. you were clinging on his arm so you don't get swarmed away by the crowd.

as you were walking, a lot of men were carrying baskets filled with a variety of food. they were bumping into so many people, "akaashi, let's go to a quieter place." you said as you tugged his sleeve.

"we're on the way to a really nice place. i'm sorry you had to get stuck in this kind of crowd." he apologized.

"no, no, it's alright" you reassured him.

"are you hungry?" he asked. "a little,"

"let's get a light snack." he said as he pulled you to a nearby food stall.

"you can sit here." he said as you saw a wooden stool. you listened to what he said as he handed you an onigiri.

"its too noisy, isn't it?" he said.

"no. the noise makes me feel i'm less alone."

"you're not alone." he said once more as he took a bite from his food. "i'm here."

"it's my duty to protect you."

"continue to keep close to me, princess." he said as he chuckled.

the illuminating sky shines a vivid blue.
