POV: Phoenix
It has been a few days since I last saw him, I'm trying to not annoy him by being too motherlike. He really doesn't like being looked after and pitied and I have to somewhat respect that.I decide to go and check in on him again and he answers the door very quickly. "Hey," He replies letting me in and closing the door before taking off his hood. "How are you doing?" I ask as I sit down on his sofa with him. "I'm alright, it still hurts and I've got no food left to eat." He sighs. "I'll go get you some?" I question quietly. "That would be really nice actually," He says standing up and walking to his room.
He returns from his room with his wallet in hand and passes it to me before throwing himself at the sofa. "You sure you don't want to come with me?" I question as I stand up. We lock eyes and I receive a very firm nonverbal message that he did not want to join me. "Okay, I'll be back soon." I reply as I leave through his door.
I've managed to cram as much food as I can into the two 5p bags I brought begrudgingly and am on my way back to his. I just grabbed him some easy food to cook and some ice cream, I'll cook him the meals and all he has to do is put them in the microwave. A simple life If I do say so my self.
I knocked on his door and waited for him to open it. I didn't get a response so I knocked again and heard a faint grunt from inside. Eventually the door opened to reveal a half asleep boy with a hood covering him as usual. I really wish he didn't have to do that. I walked in and he closed the door behind me, before walking back to his room quietly. I quickly packed his shopping away and started making a meal for us, broccoli and cheese pasta because I know it's secretly his favourite.
When the food was done I served it into two bowls and took it into Jakes room. "I made broccoli and cheese pasta!" I exclaim quietly in case he was sleeping which I quickly realised he wasn't. He smiles up at me as I hand him the bowl "Thank you," he says before tucking in.
Soon after he finished eating, he fell asleep. I quietly took the bowl from his nightstand and took it to the kitchen. I did the dishes and started cooking his meals for the next few days.
After a few hours work I was left with tubs filled with mushroom rice, honey and chicken stir fry, broccoli and cheese pasta (I even made him some cookies to snack on)
I also gave his apartment a quick clean and took his bins out because they were starting to smell real bad... so much for not mothering him. He seemed appreciative when he emerged from his room halfway through my cleaning spree and hugged me before making his way to the kitchen and finding the cookies. That got me another hug and a kiss out of the blue, I think we were both kinda shocked because he quickly scurried back to his room with the cookies in his hands.
Before I left, I went back to his room and said my goodbyes, he was sleeping so I didn't get a response but I pulled the blanket over him and left silently.
Im going to tell him I like him. Heck maybe I even love him at this point.
