Losing someone that was never mine.

Addison POV

I get dressed in a fancy black dress because Bryce told me that we were going somewhere fancy. I look myself in the mirror and smile.
"Addison your date is here!" I hear my mom shout and I grab my phone but then I see that Dixie was trying to phone me. I decline the call and rush down the stairs. My mom was smiling big at me.
"You got yourself a good looking one"
"Yeah" I say looking past her to see Bryce standing there in a suit. I'll admit he looked good.

"You look beautiful Addison" I smile big.
"You look beautiful too" he laughs.
"Thank you" I laugh and look at my mom.
"I'll see you later tonight mom" I say and step outside.
"Bryce I want my daughter back here before 12" he nods his head.
"Yes Ms.Easterling" my mom smiles big and closes the door.
"Are you ready?" I nod my head and grab onto his arm.

"You really do look beautiful" he says and I look down. He gently kisses my cheek and leads me to his very expensive car. My phone rings again as I get in and I see it was Dixie. Can she not take a hint that I'm busy. I declined again and put my phone in my purse just as Bryce got in.

Everything about the date was amazing. Bryce took me to a fancy restaurant and treated me sweetly. He really was a gentleman.
"Addison there's one more thing before we end the night" I look at Bryce and smile. He turns to me and stops when my phone rings again before he could say anything else.
"I'm sorry" I say reaching into my purse just to see Dixie's name pop up again. I roll my eyes and decline and completely turn my phone off.

I look back at Bryce and he still had the same sweet smile.
"Sorry again" he chuckles.
"No problem" I put my phone away as he looks at me all nervous.
"Look Addison I know we haven't known each other for long but I really like you....and I was wondering if I could maybe be your boyfriend?" I stare at him and then smile.
"I really like you too Bryce" his smiles lights up even more.

"And yes I'd love to be your girlfriend" he wraps his arms around me and hugs me tight. I laugh wrapping my arms around his neck.
"You just made me the happiest man in the world" I laugh again as we both pull away and he looks down at my lips. I nod my head and he leans in kissing me gently. I kiss him back as he wraps his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him.

He was a good kisser but not as good as Dixie. Why am I thinking about her when I'm busy kissing my new boyfriend?!

I shake her out my thoughts and just try and enjoy Bryces lips on mine. We slowly pull away and we both smile.
"Now let's get you home" I nod my head as he opens the car door for me. I get into the car and sigh. This is what I wanted, I wanted a perfect boyfriend and I got it by why do I just feel numb?

Dixie POV

I sigh as I try and phone Addison again. I pace around my pool and again, she doesn't pick up. I groan and throw my phone onto the grass before jumping into the pool. I stay under the water for a moment before coming up to breath. I just soaked my clothes and I wasn't to sure why I just jumped in.
"Dixie what in the world are you doing in the pool with your clothes on?!" I hear my mom shout and I turn around to see her looking at me.

"Sorry" she shakes her head.
"Dinner will be ready in a few minutes" I nod my head and get out the pool.
"Okay" I say as my mom walks back inside the house. I remove my clothes so that I was just in my underwear and bra. I lay my wet clothes on the lounge chair by the pool when I hear giggling. I look around and then up at Charli's window. The curtain moves and I know they have been watching me. Charli's best friend Daisy came over for a sleepover.

I shake my head and walk towards the grass to pick my phone up. It wasn't broken thank god. I walk to my place and open the door and step inside. I sigh loudly and lean against the door. I look down at my phone and see no messages or missed calls from Addison. Maybe I can try and speak to her tomorrow. My phone pings in my phone and my heart leaps.

I look down and see Griffin texted me. I let out a breath.

Griffin: dude my family's bothering me, safe me.

I laugh and text him back.

Dixie: sorry no can do, I've got to go eat dinner.
Griffin: rude 😒
Dixie: I love you too 😍

I put my phone down and get changed into a hoodie and sweatpants. I look at my phone just Incase but there was nothing. I don't know why I feel so empty it's even worse than before?

I walk inside and see Daisy and Charli helping set up the table.
"You alright?" My dad asks as he comes up from behind me.
"Yeah I'm fine"
"You sure cause your mom said that you just jumped into the pool?" He smiles at me and I shrug my shoulders.
"I was hot" my dad frowns.
"At night?" I nod my head as I hear Charli laugh at Daisy and Daisy's face was blood red. She pushed Charli away and told her to shut up.

"What are you two up too?" They both look at me and Charli smirks.
"Nothing" Daisy says not meeting my eyes. We all take our seats and dish up my moms amazing food. My mom and dad start normal conversation as I eat quietly. Charli and Daisy were laughing. I sigh eating the last of my food. I get up and walk around the table to put my plate in the sink.
"Hey you okay?" Charli asks putting her plate in the sink. I nod my head and fish my phone out of my pocket just to see no messages or anything.

I put it away. It's stupid to think she'll text back. I play with my fingers and lean against the table.
"Why don't we all watch a movie together?" My mom asks and everyone agrees. I take my seat at my usual one seater. I curl up in a ball and put my hoodie hood on. Everyone takes there usual seat.
"Okay what movie should we watch, Dixie do you want to chose this time?" My dad ask and I look at him.

"No Dixies going to chose the movie she always does" I roll my eyes.
"Charli shh can't you see your sister is clearly upset about something so let her chose the movie" my mom says and I look down.
"Go ahead sweetie" I get up and grab the tv remote before sitting back down. My dad gets blankets and hands them to everyone. Daisy and Charli were cuddling and my mom and dad were wrapped in each other's arms.

It made me feel alone. I know I sound selfish but I wish I had someone to cuddle it's been so long since I last cuddled someone in a loving way. I choose Jurassic park the very first one. I love this movie and all the Jurassic parks and worlds. They have been my favourite since I was a kid and will forever be my favourite. I've watched them a million times.

"See told you" Charli says and I look at her. She gives me a small smile and I smile back before curling up into a ball again and watching.

Addison was avoiding me again. As soon as I would try and talk to her she would run off or talk to someone else. It kinda drove me mad. At least in Maths which is at the end of the day Addison has no one else to talk to except for me and maybe she will finally listen to me.

It was lunch as I put my hands in my pockets and walk towards Griffin who was sitting at our usual table on his phone. He looks up and smiles at me.
"Hey dix, how are you?" I shrug my shoulders.
"I'm okay and you?" He shrugs his shoulders and laughs.
"I'm alright, but I have been talking to this girl I really like" I smile at him.

"That's great Griffin" he smiles big and types away on his phone. I look over at Addisons table and see her sitting talking to Avani. Maybe I should go over there and talk to her but just as I said that I saw Bryce wrap his arms around her and she smiles. She turns her head and kisses him and that's when I feel my heart break. It was to late and she slipped through my fingers before I could I do anything about it.

I get up and Griffin looks up at me.
"Dix-"
"I have to go" I say walking away as I felt tears fight to fall but I just choke them back. There was only one person I wanted to talk too. I rush off into the art room and see Taylor with her feat up on the table reading a book. She looks at me and that's when I just start sobbing.

Arms wrap around me and I cry harder then ever before. How can I feel so sad about losing someone who was never mine?
