Dixie POV

Something felt off about today. I just couldn't shake this feeling that something was wrong. At least we didn't have school today. I tried relaxing but it didn't work and I just ended up irritating myself. Maybe I should just go to Taylor's house after all it's across the road. I told my mom where I was going and head over to Taylor's house. I knock on the door but there was no reply. I look inside the windows and see that no one was home and it didn't look like Taylor's car was here either. I decided to wait by her door step but the longer I waited the worse I felt.

Something was off, something was definitely wrong I could feel it. I saw a tow truck coming around the corner and saw that the car it was towing was trashed badly. Then the tow truck pulled up in front of Taylor's house and my stomach dropped. The guy gets out the car and I rush over to him.
"I'm sorry sir but who's car is this?" I say and he looks at me and frowns.

"Taylor Browns" I felt numb as I look back at the car.
"Do...do you know what happened?" I ask and he sighs.
"The girl got hit by a huge truck last night and she was rushed off to hospital" I felt tear begin to form.
"Which hospital?" I say and he thinks for a moment.
"Uhm I think newcare hospital" I nod my head.
"Thank you" I say and rush off to my house. I run inside and grab my car keys.

"Dixie where are you going you're grounded?" I look at my mom with teary eyes and she softens.
"I have to go to the hospital" I say and she look at me with worry. 
"It's not Addison is it-"
"No mom it's Taylor, I have to go" I say rushing out. I get in my car and rush down the road. I knew something was wrong with today. I arrive at the hospital and run inside. I go to the reception looking like a total mess but I didn't care I needed to know that Taylor was okay. I can't lose her.

"Excuse me but where is Taylor brown?" I say and she looks at me.
"Are you family?" I frown and before I could say something I hear someone call my name. I turn around and see Madi looking at me.
"Madi!" I say and she walks over to me.
"Excuse me miss but are you family?" The reception lady asks me again. Madi puts her hands on my shoulders.

"Yes she's family" the lady nods and Madi pulls me along.
"Madi is she okay, what happened?!" I ask and she continues to hold my shoulders.
"Dixie breath" she says but I can't. The tears start falling down and Madi pulls me into a hug.
"It's okay Dixie" I hold her tighter and bury my head in her shoulder.

"She's okay Dixie, thank god. She was driving home last night and this truck came out of no where. She was rushed to the hospital, they had to stitch up her side because she has a huge cut and was losing blood. Other than that she has a broken arm and her face is pretty badly beaten up" she says and I could hear Madi begin to cry. 
"That's my baby Dixie" she says and I hold her tighter.

We hold each other for a long moment before pulling apart.
"Do you want to see her?" She asks wiping her face. I nod my head.
"Is she awake?"
"Yes" she leads me down the hallway and stops by a room.
"You're not coming in?" I ask and she shakes her head.
"I thought you guys would want some privacy" I smile weakly at Madi and hug her again.

She hugs me back before I pull apart and look at the door. I breath in and out and open the door. I walk in and close it. I look over at the bed and see Taylor there. Her face has cuts and slight bruises but she still looked beautiful. Her brown hair was loose but knotty. It looked like she was sleeping as I walk over to the side of her bed.
"Taylor" I say softly and she slowly opens her eyes. She looks at me and smiles weakly.

"Hey asshole" she says and I smile. I start crying softly as she looks at me.
"Hey" I say
"I know I look terrible but I still rock it" I laugh softly. At least she still has her cocky manner.
"Don't cry Dixie" she says softly and I close my eyes.
"I was scared I lost you" I say opening my eyes again. She lifts her hand up and reaches for mine. I take her hand and she squeezes it
