Chapter 23 ~ Time For A Change

Laura's Pov

I woke up the next morning and I could hear Haz and Darc downstairs in the kitchen. I went downstairs and said, "Good morning you two."

Darc ran over to me and said, "Good morning mama." I picked her up and said, "What are you and daddy getting into in here?"

"We're making breakfast mama." "Well daddy knows he's supposed to be taking it easy."

"Babe. I'm fine. I'm not doing anything to mess with my stitches." "Harry."

"I'm fine. I'm taking it easy." Darc said, "Mama. Daddy isn't doing anything bad. He's being careful."

"If you say so sweet pea." Haz said, "How about you go get little miss ready and I'll finish making breakfast."

"Fine. Just please be careful babe. We don't need to be back in the hospital today." "I got it. I got it."

He kissed the top of my head and I went upstairs with Darc. I took her in her room and got her dressed in a pink jumpsuit and a jean jacket. I brushed her hair and braided it.

"Mama. Are you mad at daddy?" "No pumpkin. I'm not mad. I just want to make sure he doesn't make his boo boo worse."

"Oh okay." "Let's get you some breakfast and then get your teeth brushed and get you to school with Leslie."

She nodded and I took her downstairs. I sat her in her chair and Haz brought her plate over. "How much do you want babe?"

"I'll eat after we drop her off." "Are you sure?"

"Yeah babe. Just put a plate in the microwave for me."

He nodded and put my plate in the microwave. He grabbed his plate and came over to the table. I helped Darc eat her food and once she was done i cleaned her up and took her upstairs. I helped her brush her teeth and slid on her white converse.

"Mama. How long until the babies are here?" "We still got a while pumpkin."

"Do you think I'll have a baby brother?" "You might even get two baby brothers baby girl."

"Are you and daddy still going to love me when my baby brothers are here?" "Of course pumpkin. Nothing will change how much we love you. But once the babies are here they're gonna need a little more attention. You've seen how Auntie Ana is with Mikey. She has to take care of him more than she does with Leslie. That's kind of how things will be. But i promise me and daddy will do our best to make time for you."

"Pinky promise?" I locked my pinky with hers and said, "Pinky promise. Now let's get your bag and go get Leslie so we can get you two to school."

"Is daddy coming to drop me off too?" "We'll see pumpkin."

I took her in my room and Haz was laying on the bed.

"How ya feeling baby?" "Just a little tender."

"Can you watch her while I get dressed real quick?" "I got it babe."

I went in our closet and put on a pair of light wash jeans and one of Haz's sweatshirts. I threw my hair up in a bun and put on my white Nike's. I went in the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Once I was done I went back in the room and picked Darcy up.

"Babe. Do you wanna come or stay here?" "I'll come with you. I wanna show Lou that I'm alive. I know how he gets."

I rolled my eyes and said, "Cmon babe." We went downstairs and I grabbed Darcy's bag.

We got in the car and drove to Lou's house. Lou came outside with Leslie and said, "Did you bring my Hazzy Bear?"

I took Leslie from him and said, "Yes. He's in the passenger seat." He went over to the passenger side and said, "HAZZY!"
