"Hey, Scar! There's a kegger going down at the boneyard. Wanna come?" Asked Kelce, my boyfriend. I knew the pogues were usually the ones throwing keggers, and I didn't mind it. I'm what the pogues would call a kook. We don't really use that term for ourselves though.
"Yeah, I guess. Who else is going?" I asked him. He hugged me from behind and I intertwined my hands with his. "Top and Sarah if that makes you feel better. Some other guys as well." He said.
Sarah was my best friend. She was known as the "Kook Princess", and I was known as the "Queen Kook". We spoke about the nicknames quite often. They didn't really bother us... they just confused us.
Apparently Sarah is sweet and rich so the title princess fits her, but people called me queen because I was a rich bitch with a "god complex", as I've heard the pogues say. Except I wasn't. I just have my own issues and a tough exterior.
"Cool. Who is driving? Because tonight I'm drinking." I stated. He grabbed his keys from the table near the front door and pointed at himself. We left Kelce's place and headed to Sarah's to pick up her and Top.
With the short drive, we were finally at the boneyard. "Pogue central... why are we here again?" Topper asked. I didn't really ever understand his hatred for pogues. I didn't hate them... they hated me.
"For a good time! When was the last time we went to a kegger?" Sarah asked us. We all shrugged. One thing you couldn't deny... Pogues know how to have a good time.
She grabbed Top's hand and went over to a buoy and climbed it to get a good look at all the people scattered all over the place.
Sarah and Top didn't really plan on drinking, but I had been deprived of alcohol too long with school and everything to not give in to my cravings. This was the rough part, however. Getting beer from a Pogue.
I sighed as I realized I'd have to speak to them. I had no issues with them, but they have issues with me. "I knew I should've copped beers before we came here," I said annoyed. Kelce looked at me and gave me a quick kiss. "I'll come with you. Come on."
He grabbed my hand and we walked over to the keg. I saw Kiara standing next to her friends. Kiara and I were cool, just not close. We used to be when she and Sarah were friends, but not anymore.
"Hey, Kiara," I said with a smile. She turned and smiled, "Hey, Scarlett. You want a beer?" She offered. I nodded quickly. "Please," I said to her. She giggled and shook her head. "You don't want a beer."
I gave her a confused look. "But... I do?" I questioned her. "No, you don't." She said as she pulled out a bottle from her bag. "Come on, Scar. We were good friends in the 9th and 10th grades... you hate beer." She said as she poured us two shots.
By this time, Kelce had wandered off to one of his guy friends. Kie walked over to a secluded part of the boneyard where we just took shots together and after three, they stopped burning, so we took a few more swigs from the bottle.
We had been catching up and joking about old times. Sarah, Kie, and I were a trio. But Sarah didn't invite her to her party and it kind of ruined their friendship. Kie and I still hung out after that for a while, but she got closer with the Pogues and I had just started dating Kelce last year.
We went our separate ways.
"Yo Kie, where's the bottle?" I saw one of her guy friends. He looked down at me in a surprise first, then down at the bottle in anger due to about half of it being gone, and then back at me, yet again in surprise.
Kie was a little shocked too. But I understood. Her worlds were colliding and that was a bit strange. "Uhh, Pope. This is--" She was cut off by him.
