"Kie, where are we going?" I asked her, breaking the silence in the car. "The last place they're gonna look." She said as she turned a corner and pulled over behind Sarah's house. Kie and I got out of the car to look over the stone wall that blocked off the Cameron's yard.

"You sure this is a good idea?" JJ asked Kie. "She's the only one who can clear John B." Kie stated. "What about Scarlett? Can't she clear him?" JJ asked. "No." Kie stated without explanation.

JJ looked at her with confusion. "Why not?" The blond asked. I sighed before speaking. "Because it's possible that I am now an accomplice to murder, JJ." I said to him bluntly. "The minute she walks into that police station, she could be arrested." Kie said.

Pope then got out of the car and the three of us looked over the wall while JJ remained where he was. "Last place they'll look because of how stupid it is." JJ said. Kie and Pope climbed over the wall. "Scar, stay here. I don't want you going anywhere near that house." She said in a caring tone.

I nodded my head as the two jumped off the wall and landed on the grass. I sighed as I turned around and got back in the car, sitting in the passenger's seat. The silence between us was uncomfortable, but I was too exhausted to care.

My eyes closed for a moment as I rested my arm outside of the window. "I'm sorry... for what I said earlier." JJ said. I opened my eyes and was honestly a little surprised. I didn't want to hold any conversation with him about anything that had happened between us at the moment.

"Thanks." I said plainly. He sighed as he moved to the middle seat to look at me. "No, seriously Scar. I'm sorry." He said, and he meant it. I hadn't heard him call me Scar in a while, and it gave me those same butterflies in my stomach.

He was looking at me but I couldn't look at him. "I'm sorry about what I said back at Barry's, and I'm sorry about not hearing you out when you tried to explain what had happened between you and... Rafe." He said, almost gagging at his name. I didn't blame him. The sound of his name made my stomach churn.

I sighed before turning around to look at him. "It's okay. I don't blame you." I said dishonestly. He chuckled a bit before speaking, "Yes, you do." He said with a smile. I lightly laughed at his response. "Only for the things you said at Barry's. Not for the way you reacted when you found out about Rafe and I."

His smile slowly faltered as he looked down at his hands. "JJ, I'm really sorry that I hurt you. At this point, I feel like whatever I touch, I ruin. I'm really sorry." I said as he looked me in the eyes.

"That's not true. You didn't ruin me." He said. "Hurt me, yeah. But you didn't ruin me." He said. I smiled softly as I turned and faced the road in front of us. "You know, you were right." He said. I furrowed my brows when he said this.

"What do you mean?" I asked, still looking at the road ahead. "I did lose the best thing that never happened to me." He said. My stomach exploded with butterflies and a shiver shot down my spine.

I turned to face him and he was already looking at me with those beautifully blue eyes. "JJ... you never lost me." I said to him. He looked a little surprised as he took a deep breath. He came closer to me, only a few inches separating our lips.

"Never?" He asked as he looked down at my lips. I looked down at his lips then back up at his eyes. "Never." I said. His hand was place gently on the side of my face, his thumb caressing my cheek.

He then broke the distance and our lips connected. My stomach was doing backflips and I had goosebumps. I placed my hand on the back of his neck as I ran my fingers through his hair. He placed his hand on the back of my neck, pulling me in and deepening the kiss.
