I love idol AUs so much. And I'm so glad I can write one.

Nene PoV
I awoke like normal. Today was a semi-normal day. The only thing that was slightly different was that I was starting a new school. Another thing which wasn't normal, was that I was also what would be counted as an "idol".

While Yea, that's kinda different but it's not exactly that much different. There's many idols in the world. I'm just one of them. It doesn't impact my life massively. It didn't in my old school anyway.

I got out of bed and got dressed in my new school uniform. It was cuter than my last school uniform which was nice. I then went downstairs to eat breakfast and leave the house. My mother had told me that a friend I had from childhood would be at this school. She didn't specify who it was though.
"Bye Mum!" I called as I left the house. My hair was flowing behind me in the wind and there was an obvious smile on my face. I liked new schools. They were interesting.

I made my way to the school, apparently it's name was kamome academy. Interesting. I tucked my hair behind my ear as I looked up at the school which towered above me. I gulped. This school was pretty big. Then suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder, I backed away quickly. I turned around to see who it was, and there was a short guy around my age just standing there. I instantly recognised him.
"So what my mum said was right, you are attending kamome academy," he chuckled and patted my head. He was short, but taller than me by the slightest bit.
"Seriously, Amane?" I sighed as I looked away. He smiled.
"I heard you're an idol now," he grabbed my hand as we walked towards the school gates.

"Who told you that?"
"It's common knowledge," he tutted as he stopped near to his locker. I just kinda stood behind him, not knowing what to do. He acted like he was so much older than me. And he was, but only by a month or so.

"Sometimes I wish I wasn't though," I mumbled as I tucked my hair behind my ear. "People are staring," this time I said it slightly louder. He looked around.
"They are, aren't they," he chuckled and sighed a bit. "It's because you're famous,"
"I'm not that famous,"
"You're literally on the front covers of multiple idol magazines."
I sighed and gave him a look of annoyance.
"Yea but that doesn't make me any less normal than you,"  I tutted in reply.
"Eh. You're more of a big deal than me," he ruffled my hair.
"Stop acting like you're so much older than me," I spat.
"I'm 5 months older, Nene,"
Okay so maybe when I said he was older by a month or so, I was lying.

"You're so dumb," I walked over to my new locker (which just so happened to be next to his) and put the key in.
"You love it though,"
I closed my locker and shot him an angry look.
"You're such a stupid flirt,"
"Anyway, class starts in 10 minutes. I assume we're in the same classes?"
"I think so," I took a piece of paper out of my pocket and looked at it.
Then I turned around. People were staring at me. Stuff like this always made me nervous. And that was when Amane grabbed my wrist and ran off with me.

"What was that about?" I mumbled as he let go of my arm.
"They were staring at you,"
"And what's that to do with you?"
He sighed a deep sigh.
"You were uncomfortable?"
I looked at him, basically all of his actions annoyed me. But at the same time it didn't annoy me.
"Anyway can we just get this day over with? I have a concert tonight," I said as we entered the classroom.
"Aww can I come?" He grinned.
"Sure," I don't think he expected me to agree. I giggled as he looked at me with a blank expression.
"Seriously though?"
"Seriously."
He looked at me, his eyes glimmering.
"I've never seen an idol live before!" He exclaimed as he pulled me into a hug. I just awkwardly looked to the side.
"So, what time is it?"
"7pm..."
"Cool! I'm free then!" He gave me a massive grin.

Time skip because I'm lazy

I sighed as I walked back home for the day. School was tiring, and I had a performance tonight which didn't make it much better. However, Amane was coming to see the performance which was nice. I had given him a ticket today. I just hoped that he'd actually be here.
"I'm home!" I shouted as I entered the door of my house. I went up the stairs and to my bedroom, where I sat down on my bed. It was 4pm and I needed to be out of the house by 4:30, since they were doing hair and makeup at the place.
I brushed my hair through a bit, then went downstairs to grab a snack.

Half an hour later, a taxi arrived. I hopped in and went to the place where I was performing. I didn't particularly like performing much, half the time I think I'm still in this business because my parents want money out of me.
The suddenly my phone flashed, I had a notification.
"Hey, what time was the concert again? -Amane"
I sighed as I angrily texted back.
"7pm, how many times do I have to tell you -Nene"
He was so... stupid. It didn't bother me in the slightest though, it was normal for him to be this dumb.
"We're here," I heard the taxi driver say. My eyes lit up and I thanked him as I left the car.

I instantly ran into the concert hall, hoping I wasn't late.
"Ah! Nene-chan! Just on time!" I could hear someone say. I smiled awkwardly.
"We were worried you were gonna forget or something, since you moved schools," another voice said. This voice matched up to a girl with green hair and a pretty face.
"I wouldn't forget about you guys!" I said awkwardly. I had never been very good at communicating with people.
"Okay then, Nene-chan! We all need to visit hair and makeup!" This voice belonged to one of my friends, Aoi. She was always cheerful and bright, I wondered how she did it.

Anyway, we all wandered off to hair and makeup. I looked totally different, it was amazing what some makeup could do to you. I was always nervous when I was about to go on stage. However I don't think it was always being nervous, I think sometimes I was just self conscious. I don't particularly like the way I look, and my ugly and fat ankles don't make it any better. I sometimes wondered why I was even allowed into this life with all these pretty girls, who had beautiful bodies and had not a single flaw. I sighed and put my idol costume on.

My costume was a mix of various blues, most of which were pastel or really dark. I had a cropped shirt, and shorts which had a half skirt surrounding them.
The time was now 6:30pm, and the crew had just finished setting up the stage.
I was on my phone for a bit, scrolling through social media when a message popped up.
"Hey, did you mean to give me a backstage ticket? -Amane"
I giggled and replied quickly.
"Mhm, any problems? -Nene"
"No I was just making sure this was okay -A"
I laughed as I turned my phone off.

"Hey, Nene-chan!" I heard Aoi's voice calling me.
"What's up, Aoi?" I replied. I put my phone near all my stuff and got up.
"We're starting in 15 minutes, you need to be ready," she gave me a quick smile before taking my hand and leading me into the corridor. I sighed. I didn't particularly want to be here right now, but I couldn't change much. After all, I couldn't quit now. I was too far in.

15 minutes passed quickly. By this point I was basically a nervous wreck. Being the lead singer of a popular teen idol group was hard in itself, but what made it worse was the fact that people I knew would be there. If I messed up then they'd never let me forget it. In fact, I kinda hated that people were watching. If I slipped up then the news wouldn't shut up and I'd have to quit or something.

"Hey, Nene?"
"Hmm?"
"You'll do great, dont worry."

Amane POV
Well, the concert was... phenomenal. What else could I say? The entire thing was just so well put together, it's not like I was actually looking at the backgrounds or anything. I was mostly just... shocked. My childhood best friend had become famous, and was performing live right now. I sighed and just took in the view which was unfolding in front of me.

I promise I wasn't only focussing on Nene.

Hi, I'm just gonna end this here since it's getting kinda long.
