"There you are!" I cried rushing into Meddas theater. I had been looking for Jack everywhere. Ever since the day of the strike he had disappeared. My heart was hurting not seeing him everyday. He rolled his eyes. My heart sank. "Jack." I said softly approaching him. He glanced at me and went back to his painting. I stood beside him now. I placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Why don't I leave you with Lilly here." Medda told Jack. Who didn't respond. "Good luck." She whispered in my ear before leaving the stage.

"Jack please talk to me." I begged my hand still gripping his shoulder. He didn't budge. "Jack Kelly please." His body tensed. "We need you, I need you." I said my voice shaking. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes.

"You sure didn't need me a week ago." He scoffed and my heart sank even deeper.

"Jack..." I started but nothing came out. He turned around to face me his face stone. "I'm sorry." I whispered. "I did need you, I always have." My body folded in, crushed. "I didn't mean it, I was just-"

"Just what." Jack said sternly.

"I was just frustrated because I I wanted to help so bad." I told him honestly. "I wanted to help you and Race and Davey and Les and you wouldn't let me and I was upset because that's all I wanted to do and when I'm upset I don't think I just say and-" I was cut off by Jacks embrace. His arms crushing my small silhouette. My tears falling into the crook of his neck.

"Lilly." Jack whispered in my ear. "Look at me." I slowly looked up at him. Tears glistened in his eyes.

"I'm sorry. I know you didn't mean it." He told me quietly, moving a piece of hair out of my face. Both of his hands were steady on my shoulders keeping me close to him.

"I'm scared Jack." I told him softly.

"Me too."

"How bout letting a pal know you're alive!" Davey exclaimed bursting into the theater. Jack rolled his eyes, letting go of my body. "Where'd ya go? We couldn't find you." Davey told him heading down from the cat walk.

"Ever think I didn't wanna he found?" Jack asked picking up his paint brush again.

"Is that a real place? Is that Santa Fe?" Davey had a huge smile on his face. I had no clue what was up his sleeve. I had been MIA since Jacobis. "Hey! You see the pape? We're front page news, above the fold." His eyes sparkled. Jack rolled his eyes again trying to ignore Davey. "Oh yes, above the fold." He showed Jack the paper.

"Good for you." Jack deadpanned. Davey sighed, clearly frustrated.

"Everyone wants to meet the famous Jack Kelly. Even Spot Conlon sent a kid just to say: next event you can even count on Brooklyn. How bout that?"
