Prompt: One Sentence Prompt: "You fell asleep in the tub?!"

Summary: Mitsuki worries when she finds Lillian asleep in their bathtub after returning from work.

Mitsuki stretched her arms behind her back as she stepped into the apartment after a long day of work. She knew it was wrong of her to think that Lillian was cooking dinner, but her girlfriend often liked to surprise her with tasty meals in the evening after she got off when she wasn't working herself.

The kitchen was dark however, with not a smell lingering down the hall. That was strange. The living room was empty as well, as was the office. Perhaps Lillian was reading in their bedroom or taking a nap.

"Lillian?" Mitsuki called as she entered their bedroom. The lights were off in their bedroom as well, but the bathroom door was shut. No light filtered in through the door, but where else would Lillian have gone

Mitsuki's heart was beginning to beat rapidly now. Something felt wrong. She knocked on the door, calling her girlfriend's name again, but no sound came.

"I-I'm coming in," Mitsuki announced.

She swung the door open, finding the tub occupied. Lillian had her head leaning against the wall while her arms laid at her side in the water. Faint traces of bubbles were still lingering, and her book was left downside up on the tile floor beside her. Lillian's eyes were shut, and in a moment of fear, Mitsuki raced toward her and began shaking her girlfriend.

Lillian's eyes burst open, and she hit her head against the wall as she sat up abruptly. Mitsuki grasped the edge of the tub and sighed in relief as she bent her head between her arms.

"Ouch," Lillian hissed as she gently pressed her fingers to the side of her head.

"I thought you died," Mitsuki said, slowly regaining her breath.

"I must have dozed off."

"You fell asleep in the tub?!" Mitsuki exclaimed. "What if you had drowned?"

"I think I would have woken up when my mouth hit the water," Lillian nagged. "I guess I've been sleeping for a while. Can you turn a light on?"

Mitsuki nodded and stood, finding the nearest light switch. Artificial light filled the bathroom, and Mitsuki became very aware suddenly that Lillian was not wearing any clothes.

"What are you staring at?" Lillian asked, noticing Mitsuki's stare.

"N-Nothing!"

"Do you want to get in with me?" Lillian asked.

"Isn't the water cold by now?" Mitsuki wondered. She experimentally dipped her hand into the water, finding it lukewarm.

"I can add more hot water, silly," Lillian teased. "You were going to shower anyway after work, right?"

"Er, I, well..." Mitsuki had been planning a quick shower before eating some dinner and crashing in front of the television, though today's turn of events had been unexpected.

Before Mitsuki could even answer, Lillian was draining the tub partially and filling it back up with hot water. Her arm reached for a bottle of bubbles near her, which she generously poured into the water.
