I'll be back soon.

Though you knew this world seemed to be just a dreamscape, you couldn't help but notice how real everything felt.

You could see yourself- a few years younger, sitting in the den of the Knights cabin back at home. The usual six figures you were always surrounded by were nowhere to be seen, but there was one looming figure you could clearly draw out.

It was Kylo. This was one of the few times he had come home to visit the Knights.

You were watching from afar, seemingly invisible as they paid no attention to you.

But something told you even if they had known you were there, they still wouldn't have paid you any mind.

You and Kylo were sitting on the floor, hunched over. Kylo was sat directly across from you on the other side of the small coffee table.

He was wearing nothing but a soft pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. You were dawning your usual loose pair of pajamas Akira had made for you.

Kylo seemed to be staring intensely at the game in front of you. His expression was giving off the fact that he knew he was about to lose to a child.

You were one move away from winning the entire game, which he had bought for the two of you to play while he was visiting.

Though he had bought the game expecting to kick your ass at it, you were better than he thought. Almost too good for someone of your age.

You continued watching as Kylo's expression softened. A small smile crept onto his lips as he moved his cardboard character in the wrong direction on purpose.

He was letting you win. You knew by the way he softly smiled up at you, telling you it was your turn and sitting back against the edge of the couch.

Your eyes lit up with glee as you played your next move, knowing you had just won your first board game against the Kylo Ren.

Your childhood super hero. The man from your bedtime stories.

As you got up from the floor, dancing and strutting your short little legs around, Kylo couldn't help but stifle a laugh.

You were gloating at him- telling him he sucked at his own game and that he had just gotten beaten by a little girl.

You could faintly hear yourself say "I got you! I got you!" before your voice was drowned out by a loud, staticky white noise emanating from the hallway.

Looking away from the den, you noticed your childhood bedroom door was now open just ajar, a bright red light emanating from the cracks.

As you walked closer and closer towards the room, you could hear the faint sound of someone crying. It wasn't a child, you could tell by the deeper tone of the voice.

Nearing the entrance, you softly pushed open the door as you crept inside, spotting another version of yourself- only this time, you were much older.
