Chapter 5: Lunch

Silver POV:

Finally the first classes of the day were over. I bet Mephiles skipped every class we didn't share.

Well, it's finally time for lunch. And it's probably going to be a lot like last year...

I got my lunch and walked into the cafeteria. It was just like last year. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and even Rouge were all sitting together while Shadow and Mephiles were sitting at another table which was pretty empty.

"Yo Silver!" I heard Sonic shout.

I walked over to him.

"Sit with us." Tails told me.

"No thanks. This table's going to get too crowded." I responded.

I walked over to where Mephiles and Shadow were sitting and I sat down.

"Bold move." Shadow said.

"I know."

"Shadow?!?" I heard Amy shout as she ran over to us with Cream by her side.

"What do you want?"

"Where's Blaze?" Amy asked him. I guess she was friends with whoever she was talking about.

"Blaze? Is she new?" I asked. If I met her before, then I certainly didn't remember her.

"Yes... I don't know where she is." Shadow informed us.

Mephiles stole my milk from me.

"Hey! Give that back!" I said as I reached for it but Mephiles held it away from me.

"I forgot my wallet. I'll be back." Shadow told us.

Cream POV:

"Um, Mr. Mephiles? May you please give Mr. Silver his milk?" I asked politely.

"No." Mephiles said.

"Give him back his milk!" Amy shouted.

"Please? I'm thirsty!" Silver complained. 

"Then steal someones milk or juice."

"I'm not a thief!"

"Then oh well." Mr. Mephiles was being mean.

Shadow POV:

I finally got back to the dorm, 247. My dorm was the second farthest from the cafeteria. I felt sorry for whoever had 248.

I took out my key but then someone opened the door.

"Blaze? What are you doing here?"

"I don't attend lunch." She told me.

"Why not?" I asked her. It was probably going to be the same reason I had when I used to skip lunch.

"I just don't fit in. That's all."

"Does it matter if you're an outcast? I used to be a major outcast myself."

"Really?"

I grabbed my wallet off of my bedside table on the right side of the room.

"Come on. Let's go, we've still got ten minutes."

She hesitantly followed me back to the cafeteria. 

Wave POV:

All Jet has been doing is complaining. I'm pretty sure even Storm is sick of it at this point!

"Me and Sonic could not stand it when the teacher said-" Jet continued rambling.

"Can you stop?" I cut him off.

"Why?"

"Because you're annoying me."

The truth hurts, doesn't it Jet?

Scourge POV:

"Amy, can you chill for a second?" Sonic asked.

"No... Continue." I told her.

Amy continued ranting about a bunch of gossip already going around. The main reason why I can stand her is because she keeps me updated on things that no one else besides the two of us care about. I don't care about my grades, so why else am I here?

"I heard that Blaze is already friends with Shadow and Rouge."

"You heard right." Rouge said.

We all looked at her.

"At least for the Shadow part. They share a dorm and look over there, they're entering the cafeteria together right now." Rouge pointed at the entrance to the cafeteria where Shadow and Blaze were. They were walking over to the table that Mephiles was at.

"I still feel bad for Silver. Mephiles took his milk." Knuckles told us.

I almost laughed at that. That sounds like something I would do.

Mephiles POV:

Shadow walked back to the table with who I assume was Blaze.

"You're Blaze, right?" Silver asked her.

"Yes."

"Nice to meet you!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you too."

They sat down. Lunch was going to be over in five minutes.

"Are you even going to drink that?" Silver asked me.

"Yes." I told him as I opened his milk.

"I give up." He finally said, defeated.

"That's rude." Blaze told me.

"Stating the obvious isn't going to get you anywhere." I said.

"You just stated the obvious as well." Shadow argued.

"Just stop talking. Let me eat in peace." Silver stated.

"It's not our fault you decided to eat your food in the last five minutes of lunch."

"You stole my milk!"

"So?"

He was angry at me so I simply left the table. 

Amy POV:

I continued talking about all the gossip I've been hearing.

"It's only been half of the first day, how can there be so much gossip to talk about?" Knuckles asked.

"It's called summer break, Knuckles." Tails answered.

"Well then talk about summer in summer and leave the gossip in summer." Sonic complained.

"Are you sure you're not 6th grade level English, Sonic?" Tails asked him.

Almost all of us were shocked, but Sonic and Tails just burst out laughing at the question. Scourge was laughing too but of course he wasn't laughing with them.

"Continue the gossip Amy." Scourge told me.

Well, at least someone likes the gossip besides me.

The bell rang and we all went back to our dorms to prepare for the next classes of the day.
