Chapter 7: Time Passing By

(Note: I'm bad with chapter names and there will be a lot of time skips to random scenes in this because... Yeah...)

Sonic POV:

*Time Skip To After Second Day Of School.*

I walked out of school and ran to my first day of track this year. I saw Shadow and the new girl talking and I ran over to them.

"Hey Shads! Hey Newbie!" I shouted to them once I got to them.

"Call me Blaze." The new girl told me.

"Okay. What are you doing here?" I asked her.

"I signed up for track."

I almost burst out laughing when I heard that.

"So, you think you can keep up with me?"

"I think she can." Shadow said with a smirk.

"Why are you smirking?"

"See for yourself. You and Blaze, one on one. Right now. Go back to the school steps and race to me." Shadow challenged us.

"Fine by me." Blaze said.

"Let's do this!" I told her.

We went back up to the school steps and I asked Tails to start the race for us while he was exiting the building.

"3, 2, 1, GO!" Tails quickly counted us off.

We both bolted quickly towards Shadow. I almost felt like going easy on her and letting her win, but we all know my ego wouldn't allow that.

We both reached Shadow at the same time. I went wide eyed.

"Did... Did we just tie?" I asked. I almost couldn't believe this. Another rival to race? Alright!

"Yes, you did." Shadow confirmed it.

"Welcome to the team! You'll make a good edition!" I told Blaze.

"Thank you."

Blaze POV: 

*Time Skip To Lunch On The Seventh Day Of School.*

Shadow was running late to lunch, and so was Mephiles. I wonder where they were...

"Hey Silver?"

"What is it?"

"Where are Shadow and Mephiles?" I asked him.

"Well... Me and Mephiles kind of... Sneaked into your dorm and dumped a bucket of water on Shadow while he was sleeping."

"That explains a lot... I have another question."

"Go ahead."

"Why do you sit here? I guess you're kind of friends with everyone who sits at this table but from what I've heard you're much better friends with everyone at Sonic's table."

"That isn't entirely true... I'm only friends with a few students at Sonic's table actually. And it's crowded, I don't like crowds."

"Okay. That's nice to know."

Shadow and Mephiles came running into the cafeteria and sat down at the table quickly, which confused Silver and made me worried. We spent the rest of that lunch eating in silence.

Mephiles POV:

*Time Skip to Lunch on the Fourteenth Day of School.*

I was walking into the cafeteria and saw everyone already at the table with their food. I sat down at my usual seat, the end of the table across from Shadow. Silver sat next to me and quickly stole my milk off my tray.

I almost laughed at that.

"Keep it." I told him.

"Huh?"

"I stole from you, now you steal from me."

"Best friendship ever." Shadow said as he rolled his eyes at me.

"You're making this no fun! And I'm not a thief!" Silver complained.

"Then why did you steal from me just now?" 

"Really? Is stealing how your friendship works?" I heard Scourge say as he walked over to our table with Amy following him.

"Yes. Now why are you here?" I asked.

"We wanted to invite you to a sleepover!" Amy answered.

"You two? Hosting a sleepover?" Shadow was trying not to laugh at them.

"Thank you for the invitation, Amy." Blaze told her.

"When and where?" Silver asked them.

"Amy's dorm. Friday Night. It starts at eight but you can be late!" Scourge informed us.

"But it's better if you're NOT late." Amy added.

"Who's attending? I might go." Shadow stated.

"Sonic will be there."

"Not going."

"Really Shadow?" That was the first time I heard Blaze say something like that to someone.

"Fine, fine. I have nothing else to do."

"Yay! See you there!" Amy shouted with cheer as she walked back to Sonic's table with Scourge.

Silver POV:

I bet Mephiles was thinking the same thing I was thinking.

Shadow and Blaze looked at us with confusion, because we were both smirking.

"We won't be there." I told them.

"What? Why?" Blaze asked us.

"Did we say we were going to be there?" Mephiles said.

"I didn't say I was going to be there either but that's just rude." Blaze stated.

"Give me one good reason why I should go instead of staying at my dorm and doing what I want." I challenged her.

"Because you have friends there and if you don't go, then everyone will consider you a-" Shadow answered me.

"Don't finish that statement Shadow." Blaze cut him off.

I don't think I COULD go even if I wanted to... I really did want to go, I'm being honest. But I have a secret that holds me back. I'm pretty sure that Mephiles didn't want to go in the first place but we do share that secret that holds us back from going in a way... Everyone would soon enough find out if we attended. Sonic and Shadow would never let me live it down...

Shadow POV:

I had no idea why they didn't want to go, but Blaze was not going to back down.

They kept on going back and forth about the topic until lunch was finally over.

"Shut up and get to class." I told them as I left the cafeteria. I really do think they are okay students but they are very annoying at times too.
