As soon as I stepped off the plane, I was greeted with the cold Ireland wind and my fathers arms.
“Daddy.” I said as I hugged him. “What happened?”
“Jace was in a crash.” My father told me.
Those five simple words brought my world back down again. Another car accident. Another injured member of my family.
“Is he okay?” I asked my father who was trying to hold back tears.
His tears were let loose like a dam, “He’s..He’s in a coma.”
I fell to my knees. We were in the middle of the airport but I didn’t care. My brother was in a coma.
“They don’t know how long he’s going to last.” My father hugged me. He pulled me close like he did when my mother died.
I cried. I cried hard. My brother was like my best friend. I don’t know what I would do if I lost him.
We finally pulled ourselves together and got a cab to take us to the hospital. We walked into Jace’s room and I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was convered in casts and bandages, head to toe. In a way, he looked peaceful. He didn’t have anything to worry about.
“Mr. Parker,” A doctor asked as he walked into the room. I turned to look at him. He was young. His hair was blond and he had bright green eyes. They reminded me of Harry’s.
“Ah, and you must be Jace’s sister, Jayden?” He extened his hand out to me.
I nodded and shook his hand, returning my attention towards my brother.
“His condition has gotten worse. His organs are going to slowly stop functioning now.” The doctor told us.
“There’s got to be something you can do.” I said to him.
“I’m sorry, but we can’t.” He said. My father nodded and the doctor made his way out of the room.
“I’ll give you some time.” My father said and left me alone with Jace.
“Jace..” I said, tears streaming down my face. “Jace, you can’t leave us. I can’t lose you.” I told him. “Don’t leave me.”
I sat next to his bed, holding his hand for what felt like forever. “Jace, I need to call Niall.”
I dialed his number. I felt bad for just leaving like I did.
“Hello?” Niall answered. He sounded like I had just woke him up.
“Oh crap, did I wake you up?” I asked, looking at the time.
“Jayden?” He asked, sounding more awake.
“Yeah, I need to explain why I left.” I told him.
“No, first, I need to apologize.” He stopped me, “I shouldn’t have been so rude and harsh to you.”
“No, Niall. It’s okay.”
“No, it’s not okay. You’re new to this hate thing. Giving you an ultimatum is probably the stupidest thing I could’ve done and I did it. I’m sorry.” He told me again.
“Niall, it’s okay. It’s really what I needed. I wasn’t going to leave.” I told him. Silent tears were rolling down my face.
“You weren’t? Then why did you leave?” He asked.
“My brother. He was in a car accident.” The tears started rolling down my face faster.
“Is he okay?” Niall’s voice was sincere.
