The luxuries of life that I never knew I would experience were a part of my new lifestyle now. Well, it was part of my new lifestyle for the summer at least. Chilling in the back seat of Rubi's BMW, I carefully thought about how I would brag to all the people in school about how amazing my summer was so far.

"Ari could you close your legs, man?" Rora nagged, "There isn't much room in these cars and you know that." Rora pushed my legs together as she stretched herself out. She wore a pink two piece that matched her sunglasses and her flip flops making one nice, complete summertime outfit. Apparently, Rubi ordered that we have a bit of fun before we start training for the Games so we made our way to the beach in two cars.

"Ladies sit with their legs closed," I joked, pushing her legs back together.

"Well I'm not your conventional lady." Rora smiled. When she smiled I felt something deep in my soul. I didn't know Rora as well, but I had a feeling that she was a perfect match for me.

"You two are funny," Rubi laughed as she looked into the rearview mirror.

"I agree," Shirubia chirped, "Rora must have a crush." Rubi and Shirubia giggled to themselves.

"HEY! NO I DON'T GUYS! QUIT IT!" Rora demanded over the loud chuckling of the two. I had no opposition to Rora liking me. I surely was feeling her from the minute I laid eyes on her.

"Whatever. Are we almost there?" Rora spat, slumping back into her seat.

"Yes we are almost there," Rubi answered, "Are the others still behind us?"

I looked back and there was one of Rubi's other BMW's with Nik looking very irritated in the driver's seat. Eriya, Mindi, and Seshy were probably getting on his last nerves.

"Yeah they are," I answered, "Hey Rubi.."

"Wassup?" Rubi asked.

"So what's about this group called the Brigade or something like that?"

"The Chaos Brigade?" she questioned sharply.

"Yeah those guys."

"Well.....to put it in simple terms, Ari, the Chaos Brigade is like a terrorist group that has been wreaking havoc on all dimensions for about...fourteen hundred years maybe."

"Wow."

"Yeah," Shirubia jutted in, "We have been fighting the Brigade since I joined the House and I was the first to join the House."

"What's their motive, though?" I pondered eagerly, "W-What are they trying to do?"

"Push the ideals of their leader and create a new world order for all to follow until death," Rora quickly responded.

"Who's their lead—"

Rubi stopped the car abruptly, making all of us jerk forward with much force. Looking up I saw the crystal clear ocean ahead. No limits could hold the beauty of this natural Goliath.

"We're here," Rubi interjected while smiling an obviously fake smile, "Let's go have some fun and ask those questions later. K?" I didn't waste any time getting out of the car and grabbing the stuff for the beach.

The Sun has no mercy on anyone. It beamed down harshly onto its victims no matter the race: Black, White, Asian, it didn't matter at all. Though the Sun will continue its beratement of solar heat onto the tiny people of Earth, it is up to the victims to either enjoy the moment or be scorched like a raisin or both. With those thoughts, Mindi splashed me with salt water that made my eyes burn. I blindly made my way over to her only to be tackled into the water. After nearly drowning for a few seconds, I opened my eyes to see that it was no one but Rora who had taken me under. I swore that I would get her back, but she just turned her back to me and laughed.

"Come get me then," she boasted.

"Nah. I'm tired. Give me a breather," I coughed, walking out of the beautiful ocean and into the hot sand. I sat down on a towel and watched everyone else play around. It was fun to be a part of this new family. Mindi and Rora were busy tackling Eriya into and out of the water. Shirubia and Seshy were tapping away at their phones as they gossiped about whatever. Rubi was lounged on a towel while exchanging some inaudible words with a chilled out Nik. After a few minutes of tourture, Eriya groggily made his way beside me to sit down.

"So how you liking the new fam?" I asked, nudging him. He seemingly looked off into the distance without answering my question. I thought he was just playing around with me.

"Hello??? Anyone there?"

"You think we are ready?" he wondered to himself.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you think we are ready, Ari? You think we can do what needs to be done to be good cards in Rubi's House?"

"I'd say so. I think we are on the right track if you ask me," I asserted calmly.

"I don't know though."

"What do you mean, Eriya?"

"Like there is so much that is going on with this, Ari. I don't know if we are ready to be soldiers and cardmates and have such a big responsibility like this. How do we know we are ready?"

I thought long and hard about Eriya's question. I had no idea how we would know anything for certain.

"Eriya. I don't know. I don't know how we would know anything. I don't know what the future holds. All I know is that we died. Our mortal lives were over, but Rubi was able to give us another chance. The least we can do is trust her as our leader and our King."

Eriya took a long hard look at me. I saw the strife in his eyes. I saw the pleading for a conclusive answer from me or anyone. But all I could tell him was to trust Rubi as our King. We all had to trust Rubi. Every single one of us had to trust Rubi with our lives. He nodded his head in agreement.

"You're right...you're right. We have to walk in Rubi's footsteps."

"Glad we are on the page," I smiled, "Now let's go have some fun."
