That's how I got to the cliff with Mina. We creep around the top looking for any sign of Bakugo or the others.
"Anything Mina?"
"Across the lake, there." She points to three figures in the lake, two seem to be arguing while a third is swimming in circles around them, even from here I can hear her high pitched laughter. "They're so pale?"
"Don't read into it Mina, you promised." She looks at me, her eyes wide, and mouth in an uncertain frown.
"You got it Kirishima." I divert my attention back to the trio,
What are they doing here?
Bakugo said they'd only be here around the winter solstice
How was he wrong?
Voices, I snatch Mina's hand an yank her into the bushes.
Sounds like a guy arguing with himself
Ei, I swear to god if your here
"I'm here, on the cliff, Mina's here too, so is someone else, I haven't seen him yet." I breathe,
"Kirishima what are you doing?" Mina hisses,
You brought pepto? Ah fuck, just stay hidden, I'll be there in a sec.
I nod, not like he can see me.
A man jerkily comes into view, his face is covered in a mask, even so I can see him look around.
Is he looking for us?
There's no way,
Bakugo!
I gulp, as the man ambles toward us, surveying lazily. Mina grabs my arm, digging her nails in.
"Kir-" I quickly put my finger to her lips.
Don't move, don't move, don't move!
Every muscle in my body is tense,
There's no way he knows we're here.
Bakugo hurry, please.
The man slaps his hand on the bush, he rips the branches away from us,
"A bit weird to be sitting there huh?" He questions,
"Oh ho ho! Really weird!" He answers.
"Well, you see," I begin
"You don't have to explain." He says, chipper,
"Oh No Shiggy would want him to explain." He barks back, hand on his hip.
"Can I go, you can keep the scary boy, but I was dragged here against my will-" Mina begins,
"You Bitch!" I counter, "I didn't want to bring you!"
"Er," the man starts
"Then why am I here?" She looks at the man pointedly. I can see the cogs turning in his head, "Obviously, I have nothing to do with anything, so I should go."
"What! No! You don't get to leave when you're trying to sell me out."
"Kirishima, I want to be able to go home and smoke, you're the one tangled up in this not me."
"Hey Kids-"
"You care about weed more than making sure I'm okay?"
"Weed is forever, friendships end." She quips. I can barely control myself, I rear my fist back, the back of my throat warm, a small moment of shock appears on Mina's face, I launch my fist forward, and it curves straight into the man's jaw. He flops to the ground, out cold.
"Kirishima!" I hear Bakugo's whisper yell, he's glaring at me, I stiffen before he grins, "I'm angry at you, but nice punch." I rush to him, wrapping my arms around his chest.
"I'm sorry I was worried, and Mina said that the creek led to the lake, and sirens, and eggs, and weed, and I-" he pushes my face down onto his shoulder,
"I know, hush."
"I punched someone,"
"Good job, Ei,"
"Aren't you two just the cutest." Mina then pretends to retch before creeping to the edge of the cliff. Bakugo and I break apart, I'm staring at my feet with a warm face while Bakugo crouches beside Mina. "Is that a fucking fin?" I look to Bakugo, he's tighter than a wire.
"Yeah, we've got some explaining to do, but not now," they hit the deck, and I follow, a second later I hear the people below calling,
"Twice! Twi-ice!" I look at the unconscious man beside me, I snatch his arm
"Kirishima what are you doing?!" Mina hisses, I pull him over me.
"Eiji!" Bakugo growls, I gather my legs under the mans body, and launch him off the cliff.
"What the hell, TWICE!" I hear a girl scream, and the two men laughing.
"Run!" I yelp, as softly as I can.
We crawl over to where the ground dips them get on our feet and run. I hear the whoops go from, 'hell yeah,' to worry over their friend, vigorous splashing follows. Midorya and Todoriki wait at the bottom of the cliff for us, along with a now very human looking Eri.
"What?"
"I have some things to explain," Bakugo grabs my hand, staring into my eyes, "But not now Eiji," I nod and we rush forward.
We're cut off by a blue flame engulfing our path.
