Lynn pulls me through the crowd of people with a grin on her face. Tonight is the first night they've allowed me to hunt without Uther present. Maddy and Uther went out on their own for a date and the others took me to hunt which is nice. We went to a different club tonight and Lynn seems to be very excited.

Jin and Haven are still dancing by the time Lynn and I reach the bar. "Your strongest!" She shouts waiting for the drinks. "This won't get us drunk and tastes like copper."

"Then-"

"It makes us seem normal and approachable. Easier to track down some prey."

"Does everything taste like copper or metal?"

"Besides blood, the less fresh the more blood like it tastes and animals blood is like super salty," she mutters in my ear. I nod my head in understanding before taking the shot. I can feel my face scrunch up at the awful taste and suppress a gag. This will definitely take some getting used to. Utter said eating human food would get easier with practice.

"That's horrid," I groan. She just laughs at me taking her own shot. Lynn's eyes, grey with very light hints of blue, scan the crowd looking for her prey. It eerily reminds me of the way Caleb would look for me.

"Does anyone catch your eye? You seem really good at picking," she calls out. I glance around the crowd before my eyes settle on a loner sitting at a table drinking. I nudge my head in his direction ready to head towards him but she holds me back. Another guy approaches us with a confident swagger. His hair is gelled back from his face and his shirt is halfway unbuttoned. He's desperate and confident.

"Would you ladies like to dance?" He asks holding a hand out to each of us. I look over at the guy I found with a frown. My gut tells me that the loner at the table is the best choice but Lynn obviously likes our brave little meal. She tends to like the ones that come to her rather than approaching them first. Her eyes connect with my own as she slowly sets her hand in his.

"It'll be fun," she whispers towards me. Going against my gut feeling I accept his hand, letting him lead us to the dance floor. Lynn has told me that she likes making our prey dance and get the blood pumping. It makes the draining a quicker process.

It's also just hella fun dancing with Lynn. She makes everything seem so effortless and beautiful. Something about her makes her come across as chill. Not much gets under her skin and she seems happy a lot of the time. It makes me wonder how she grew up to become this way. Has she always been this open or is it something being a vampire has awoken in her?

I snap out of my thoughts when I feel the guy press himself against my back making me flinch a little. "Whoa there, just wanna dance," he whispers in my ear. Ignoring the horrible feeling in my gut I go along with dancing with this fool. I have my eyes closed just enjoying the feeling of the beat. When the next song comes on I open my eyes to find that Lynn is gone.

"Wanna go somewhere quiet?" The guy whispers in my ear. Maybe she just went outside already? I nod my head letting the guy lead me out the door towards the ally. I can't sense Lynn out here either, where is she? "You okay?" He asks as I look around.

"I just lost my friend," I mutter back turning towards him. He goes to grab my arm but I shove him against the wall baring my fangs at him. "Where is she?"

His eyes widen as I hiss at him. I go to sink my fangs in him but I'm pulled back. I let out another hiss while slipping out of the persons grip, grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back. "Who the fuck are you?"

"One of you," another guy says grabbing my head in his heads. I feel a sharp pain and hear a loud crack before everything turns black.

My neck throbbing in pain is what pulls me out of the darkness but when my eyes flutter open I can't see anything. I close them again and tune in my hearing. I can hear the small scratching noise of a rat running along the floor. I tilt my head hearing the floor creak a little bit louder than what a rat would make. "I know you're there," I call out.
