Eva was absolutely correct when she has said Gavril would have my entire schedule planned out. For two whole weeks he has had me go through his "hell weeks." This consists of little to no sleep, even in the daytime, him randomly throwing stuff at me, doing weird workouts and a lot more. At one point the man had me cleaning the steps leading up to the throne with a toothbrush.

He was considerate about me still being a youngling and made sure I was getting a proper amount of blood while training. Most of the time we didn't really fight. He would have me balance objects while walking beam poles or slowly go step by step through some techniques. We trained alone in segregated training room that resembled a dungeon rather than a training room or gym. The entire time he has been looking for any major weaknesses. Right now I am balancing on a beam while doing step by step techniques with a sword that only requires one hand.

He has been rather patient and for the most part just watches me after telling me what to do. "Break," he mutters. I set the sword down while hopping off the beam. I plop down on the ground while picking up my phone to see if I have any notifications. Uther seemed completely shocked about Gavril wanting me to be his student. Jin tried his best to tell Uther what happened and he just seemed too shocked to fully take it in. Maddy was excited though. She-

"What are you doing!" I screech while pushing myself back then hissing. Gavril raises his eyebrow in question while leaning toward me. "You don't like people yelling at you."

"Does anyone?"

"You overreacted."

"When a big man screams at you I don't think there's a certain way you react."

"You've has people hell at you a lot haven't you? Being with Uther brought you a sense of security," he says. My thoughts instantly return to Caleb and my parents. They always yelled at me for anything they could.

I scoff while shaking my head. "I didn't know training included therapy," I snap back.

"Being able to control your thoughts and emotions is something you need to master. Soon the youngling daze will completely wear off and you will be left with intensely heightened emotions. Especially if you were an emotional human," he retorts. I know what he said is true, Uther has told me that much. After this daze of being a new vampire wears off I will either be a much stronger being or a worse version of the scared woman I was. I do not want to revert to that way.

I need to protect my new family. If that means proving myself to Gavril and the emperor then so be it. I'll be the best damn youngling they've ever seen. "We are done for the day. Go," he says shaking his head. I frown at him while grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulder. As soon as I step out of the room Eva joins me.

Ever since I've met her she seems to be everywhere I am. We get along rather well too. She likes comparing our transitions together to see how similar but yet different we are. She claims that I must have a killer instinct because it took her over a whole day to decipher she needed to claw herself out of the grave. "How was training?"

I just grunt out a response, tightening my hold on my bag. I haven't heard much about what they've done with man bun but I do hear a few of the guards snicker whenever I walk by and talk about his missing finger. So yeah, I'm known amongst a few guards as the girl who will bite your finger off if you touch her. I'm knocked out of my thoughts as someone walks into me. I hiss before saying, "Dude watch it." I hear Eva gasp slightly, clutching onto my arm.

"Maybe you should watch it," he snaps back, his graying blue eyes harden on me.

"Anyone could've clearly seen us walking. Either you're blind or just an asshole," I snap back. One of his thick brows raise up in question or amusement. I'm not sure which yet.
