Gavril glances back at me to make sure I am still behind him. I stick my tongue out causing him to crack a small smirk before looking back towards the empty room. Today one of the lesser kings that serve under a emperor has arrived but requested to speak to Emperor Kronos. Gavril was requested to be there as well so he asked that I come along.
Gavril and I are standing off to the side of the stairs that lead up to the platform for the thrones. Considering that I'm not an official guard or warrior I don't have a uniform so Gavril told me to wear a practice uniform that consists of stretchy leather like black pants, boots, and a red tank top with the Empires crest over my left breast. He also gave me a one-handed sword. The sword is rather simple with a black hilt and black blade. It's the same type of sword I've been practicing with whenever we work on swords.
"Go stand on the other side," Gavril orders. I do as he says. I wonder why Gavril wanted me to be here? I thought our training was going rather well these past days. Gavril still will randomly scream at me just to try to get me off guard but I think I'm hiding it pretty well. Sometimes I'll wake up and expect Caleb to be laying beside me, ready to tell me to make breakfast or get his work clothes. I snap out of my thoughts as the door opens showing a familiar brunette. The prince.
Why was here here?
Oh, yeah, he's the prince. God, Vanya.
"Why is she here?" Prince Cassius asks walking right past me and to his throne off to the side of his fathers.
The emperor frowns at his sound while slightly shaking his head. "Vanya is Gavrils student. She is here as a part of her training. Is that a problem?"
I can practically feel the heat of his eyes on me . "Just a lot nicer view than what I'm used to," he mutters. It takes a lot in me not to turn around and slap the prince. I have a feeling most of my time spent here will be practiced in the same way.
"Leave the youngling alone," Gravil laughs while shaking his head. I pinch the bridge of my nose while closing my eyes.
"My son hardly has spent any time with any younglings. Pardon him for not recognizing how hard it is for you to want to snap his neck. I commend you," The Emperor says making me crack a smile.
"I've spent my entire life living with much more crude remarks than that, My emperor," I shoot back thinking to how Caleb and his friends would speak to me. I can sense the hesitation come from the Royal males. Gavril already knows a little about how I was treated.
I'm pulled from my thoughts as King Philip and his son Marcus are introduced. Two averaged height men waltz in both with deep red hair that is accented well with their outfits. The king has silver eyes while the new prince has a slight blue hue to them. The duo stop in front of the steps, not to far away from Gavril and I before bowing to our Emperor and his son.
"Why did you wish my presence?" The Emperor asks. King Philip let's put a soft sigh before looking up.
"It's the werewolves, Emperor. They close closer to our boarders than ever before. Several bodies of my people, our people, have been found tattered to shreds by these vicious creatures," King Philip says, his eyes pleading with the emperor. I glance at prince Marcus with a frown. While his father seems pleading this man seems not to be concerned. The prince seems to not look away from Cassius.
"Have you gathered evidence of it in fact being a werewolf?"
The son seems to suppress a laugh by clearing his throat. I narrow my eyes at him not liking how his hand stays on the hilt of his sword as he glances towards the prince. I bite my bottom lip trying to calm myself. I need to make sure he is truly a threat or if it's my more humane feelings arising.
