Unimaginable burning resides in my throat, a eerie hiss passes through my lips. It feels as if the sun and Hell decided to have a war there, neither side giving up. Opening my eyes I realize it's dark, seemingly very dark. I squeeze my eyes shut, rub them and open them again only to see soft white fabric. I push the fabric only to hear a thud. Where am I?

Panic settles within me as I feel around me. I'm in a small enclosed rectangle. "For fucksake. I better not be in a casket," I croak out feeling around still. Knowing my words are meaningless I scream in frustration. Why am I in a casket?

I start to kick at the top of the casket repeatedly hoping for some kind of freedom to come, an overwhelming sense of needing out rushes over me. I guess my adrenaline has kicked in. There is a loud crack as the bottom of the casket gives out. I shimmy down and pull the small hole into a much larger one only to see cement. A burial vault? Why would someone bury me like this? Why would anyone bury me in general? The burn in my throat and the ache in my stomach forces me to act. I need to get out of here. I start to punch at the cement, little bits flaking off until a hole opens and dirt falls in.

An animalistic instinct takes over me as I claw my way into the dirt and up. It seems as if hours pass by when my hand finally pushes through the dirt and hits air. I shove my other hand out before using all the strength I can to pull myself out. Once the night air hits my skin I inhale deeply. The smell of dirt, rot, and rain assaults my nose and does nothing for the burn inside me.

Maybe Caleb can explain what is going on with me and why I was buried. Maybe it's just a sick joke he played on me. I glance around noting the cemetery I am in, one very close to my apartment. I turn looking at the headstone over the grave I was in.

I scramble away from the grave in shock. The burn in my throat fires up making me clutch at it in pain. I need to find Caleb, he will know what happened. Picking myself up I rush out of the somewhat familiar cemetery before heading into town. He should be in our apartment right now. Keeping my gaze towards the ground I try to avoid eye contact with anyone. A loud piercing noise forced me to cover my ears.

What the hell?

I frantically look around, spotting a woman whistling for her dog. I shake my head before fast walking towards the apartment. Once I get to the building I enter our code before the door unlocks to let me in. Ignoring the sleepwalking neighborhood I rush up the stairs to the third floor. I really hope that Caleb left the door unlocked again, which he did. The crappy little apartment actually brings me comfort for once. "Caleb?" I call out looking around. The tv is on and there is bottles littering the floors.

I guess he is drinking again.

I feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand as a small creak from the floors shoot up my adrenaline. There is the should of a small whoosh. I twist around on the heel of my foot while raising my hand, a solid object hits it and I grab onto it. I lock eyes with a familiar pair of brown ones. "Caleb?"

"Vanya?" He asks, his chocolate eyes going wide as he stumbles back. Holding the metal bat I let it lower before tossing it to the couch. I step towards him but he steps back, against the wall. There's a loud thumping in my ears along with the sound similar to a stream. Did he leave the water running?

"What happened? Why was I buried alive?" I rush out. His gaze seems to be stuck on my eyes, his mouth slightly open.

"You're dead."

"I really think not."

"I went to your funeral, I watched as they lowered your casket in the ground. I picked out that dress for you," he rambles on. That noise seeming to get louder and louder as he does. I take a another step to him wrapping my arms around his waist. I half expect him to force me back for him to yell at me, one of his favorite pastimes, but instead he wraps his arms back around me.

"I love you so much babygirl," he whimpers into my hair. "I'm so sorry. I love you so much, don't ever leave me again. I can't be without you."

"Caleb," I whisper, his cries being drowned out by the thumping noise.

"-I'll never yell or scream again. I won't throw anything at you. Just don't leave me baby please don't leave me. I love you-"

A pain in my jaws makes me groan as the burn in my throat seems to double. I bite my lip as I look at his neck. I kiss the area where I swear I can see his pulse. I shove him harder into the wall as I kiss the area harder. "Vanya," he moans out as I lick the spot. It takes me a moment to realize that my teeth nick him. A mouthwatering smell fills the room making me groan. "Vanya, please. More."

I lick his neck, the warm taste of cinnamon causes my tastebuds to explode. I suck on the spot, probably leaving a hicky as I do. The burn in my throat seems to cool down as I do. I want more. I need more.

I need it.

I open my mouth before sinking my teeth into his neck. The cinnamon flavored liquid rolls down my throat causing a moan to roll out of me. It seems to send a chill down my throat that is much more pleasant than the burning battle that's been there since I woke up.

I need more.

I sink my teeth down more causing more to flow. Caleb seems to slink down, he is only being held up by me. I let him fall to the ground before straddling him and sinking my teeth into the other side of his neck. I have to have more.

It seems as if a dam breaks as I drink more. I swear I can still hear the woman whistling down the street, or cars drive by. I can smell all the liquor in the apartment, Caleb's body wash, and garbage.

Suddenly I am pulled back from Caleb, a hiss rips through me as I send my elbow back into the person. I turn to see a Korean man across the room and a pale brunette man standing not too far away from him. I let out another hiss before turning back towards them and going back to Caleb. "Vanya," once of them calls out as I sink my teeth back into Caleb. Non of the cinnamon tasting stuff comes out making me frown as I come back.

"Vanya, snap out of it," the brunette says while snapping his fingers in my face. I hiss at him while pushing him back.

"She's a wild one isn't she, Uther," the Korean says carefully stepping towards us. Uther, squats down so he is eye level with me.

"You need to come with me now that you've fed," Uther whispers. He holds his hand out towards me, his silver eyes hold a caring element to them. "I am your creator. I am your father now."

"My father?" I mutter. I can't deny that I feel some sort of pull towards the man. Despite how gorgeous he is, it isn't anything sexual, like he said it feels fatherly. I drop my hand in his as he helps me up.

"Do you want to meet your new family?"

I just stare at him trying to memorize his face from the slight stubble along his jaw to his thick hair. Something about him seems eerily familiar and yet something deep inside me tells me I need to go with him. That he knows all the answers to what's going on. The burn in my throat seems to arise again. "I'm still thirsty. It burns," I whisper using my other hand to hold my throat. Uther pulls me closer to him before releasing my hand and holding my face.

"The first few days are always the worst, we'll get you some more. I promise."

I bite my lip, feeling a few unusual sharp teeth. Both sets of my meat teeth are sharpened and on the top row of teeth the set of teeth between my meat teeth and my front two are a little bit longer than the meat teeth. I am not entirely sure what is going on with me but I can feel an animal instinct brew deeply within me. Something has changed. I look over at the other man who is carefully watching us. His eyes are almost the same silver as Uthers but with a lightest of blue shades to it. "Vanya, let us take you home," Uther whispers. I just nod my head. I have a deep feeling in me that these men can help me.
