"Alex! Bob called out in frustration, he was probably tired of our conversation but I wasn't going to let it go.
"Exactly what ties you and Prince together? I mean I don't get it! Correct me if I'm wrong, you yourself mentioned to me that you didn't want to talk about business until you are fully recovered.

Yet, Prince has been coming to see you ever since you got discharged. Does that mean you both aren't talking business or he just seems to be an exception?" Before Bob could deem me with an answer, Luke bounced into the room and said he was hungry.

I had never been more annoyed that today was a weekend. I couldn't tell if it was the excitement of his father being back but Luke kept on disturbing us for one thing or the other.
"I have told you young man, whenever you are about to enter a room, you knock."

"Yes mummy" he went out, knocked and came back in. I all about face palmed.
"Now, what is it you want again? I asked him, one hand on my waist.
"He said he's hungry and now that I think about it, I am too" Bob stated.
"Really now Bob" I drawled out, making sure to let Bob know that I could tell he was trying not to laugh.

"You are practically dying of hunger if you have to think so much about it. Right?
He laughed out, holding his stomach.
"I'm sorry, I seriously can't help it. I don't get it though, ever since you heard Prince asking me about telling someone something, you haven't stopped asking me about it."

"I can't help that I'm curious."
"But you know curiousity killed the cat, don't you?
"Yes but not this species of cats" I pointed out and Bob let it go "spoken like a true scientist. Which reminds me Luke, what do you want to become in future?

I laughed "nice attempt to divert the topic and just so you know...we are nowhere close to being done with this conversation. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me and for God's sake... don't stress my son's head."

Before I left, I heard Luke saying he wanted to drive trains and planes around and so he wanted to be a driver, I couldn't stop laughing - he is such a smart kid. I looked at the refrigerator and didn't like what I was seeing there, we seemed to be low on groceries.

On getting to the store, however, I got all I needed and decided to make Yamarita with shrimp and mushroom sauce. It didn't take me long to finish cooking it and before I could call the boys downstairs, their noses called them down.

"Woah...this place smells divine" Bob complimented.
"Uhnuhn" I laughed.
"What can I do to help? Bob asked and I laughed again.
"Really? Okay... let's see" I thought about it for a minute "okay, how about you set the table for us while I wash the dishes?
"Come on son, mummy has decided" he called Luke over and they began arranging the table.

"Ouch! Bob said from the dining and I hurried over.
"What is it? Is it your chest? I asked him in panic.
"What?! No... I just remembered that I invited two people to lunch today."
"Who? Do I know them? I asked him, already wondering if the food would be enough for four.
"Yeah...Prince is one of them, you haven't met the other person" he explained.

"I'm sorry though, I completely forgot, maybe we should eat out and have this at night?
"What! No...I mean....
"Yeah" he cut me off "I'm thinking that's a bad idea too, I don't think I'll be satisfied if I don't eat whatever you have decided to make for us" he told me and I laughed.

"Foodie! I smacked him.
"Yeah right" he rolled his eyes "don't act like you don't bask in the compliments that ensue when other people eat your food - i'm doing this for your benefit" we both laughed and I got extra plates and cups.

"So we won't eat until they get here? I asked, unsure.
"No...we can because if they aren't here in the next five minutes, then we are eating without them" he said and I agreed, I hadn't eaten anything of great magnitude all day.

As we settled to eat after about ten minutes of waiting for our guests to arrive, the doorbell rang.
"Just in time. I'll go get the door" Bob offered.
I waited till they got in and got up to greet them.
"Afternoon Alex" Prince greeted curtly and I nodded at him.
"It's nice of you to join us for lunch."

Once I answered him, he went over to Luke and tickled him "hallo young man."
"Afternoon sir" I heard my son greet as Bob introduced me to the stranger "And here is my lawyer, Maxwell meet Alex."
"I've heard a lot about you Alex, it's nice to meet you" we shook hands and I told him the pleasure was all mine.

"Come...join us... We were just about praying" Bob waved them over and once they took their seats, he gave me the honour of praying.
"Father we thank you, we are grateful for life, for our salvation, for provision, for the grace to be gathered here in health. We ask that you bless this meal and thank you Lord for keeping Bob. Amen."
"Amen! Everyone chorused and I began dishing the food.

I always made sure Luke sat down beside me everytime we eat because I don't want him creating a mess. I tied a napkin around his neck and served him his food, then I went on to teach him how to hold his fork and knife. I allowed the men discuss whatever it is they wanted to discuss. Luke got tired of the knife and it clanked on his plate when he dropped it, getting the attention of the men, unknown to me.

"Must I use the knife? It's hard! He complained, looking at the knife in disgust.
"No it isn't hard" I shunned and sighed "fine, because we are home right now, you are permitted to use the fork alone but you must learn how to use the knife too...
"Yes mummy" I laughed and gave him a big smile "that's my boy."
I looked up to ask if the men were enjoying their food and got a shocker as they were looking at us. I coughed and Bob got up immediately, coming to pat my back "are you alright?

"Yeah...I'm good" I smiled at him "thanks."
"Well I must say Alex...you make a mean meal! Maxwell complimented and I smiled in gratitude.
"Yeah...I mean, you can practically feel each and every taste in the food...they all stand out and yet combine beautifully" Prince put in.

"You flatter me...but thank you."
"You might as well open your own restaurant so you can experiment however way you want" Bob suggested "you know I never compare your meals with any other but I think this really classifies as some restaurant kind of meal...it's wonderful."

His words had me blushing "thank you" and though I knew he said it as a joke, I began thinking of how good it would be to open a restaurant. That night, after tucking Luke in, before going to bed, I told Bob.

"Really? You know I was just joking about it right? He asked me in surprise.
"Yeah but I think it's a great idea...I mean Bob, I love cooking. Nothing else looks as good as food to me... it's something I love. You don't think I can do it?

"I think you can do anything you put your mind to do."
"Everyone says that" I rolled my eyes "be serious!"
"I'm serious" he spread his arms wide "I mean Alex, damn! You make a mean meal and I think it's a good idea for you to open a restaurant."

"Thank you" I gave him a big smile.
"You can count on me for anything, you know that. Goodnight Lexie" I laughed and bade him goodnight too.

Who's getting tired of all the secrecy between Bob and Prince? Cause I am👆. Now hands up if you love food just as much as Alex!!! Please like, comment and share. Xoxo😍.
