19. We get to be the police

"God, Alex!" He huffed immediately he opened the door "can you not? I'm so tired" he held his head and I adjusted my facial expression immediately, seeing that he was serious.

"Aww...i'm sorry. It doesn't look like you are ready." I told him and it didn't take a genius to know that Bob wasn't coming sight seeing with Luke and I.

I just hoped he at least did me the favor of bathing and dressing Luke.

"Can I come in?" I asked him and he opened the door wider. As soon as I looked at the bed and still saw Luke fast asleep, I groaned.
"Bob! I whirled to see him locking the door "the least you could have done is help me bath and dress him." He held his forehead in his right palm and sighed, closing his eyes.

"Bob, are you alright?" I asked him.
"I'll be fine" he waved me off as he slowly approached the bed, leaving me by the door.
"I'll be fine, I just really need to rest. I promise I'll be good by tomorrow and I'm sorry I couldn't dress Luke up for you."

"It's fine" I shrugged and watched him go back to bed. I went to the bed and shrugged the blanket off Luke, "come on little man, get up!"
"Mummy!" He grumbled and I laughed. It was so obvious he'd been awake for a while now.
"We have a whole lot of sights to see darling." I hoped that was enough to get him up but it wasn't.

"And you'll get lots of ice cream and cookies and cupcakes..." I continued and that did the trick. I laughed as he got up with speed.
"I'm up, I'm up."
"Off you go to the bathroom mister." I told him and watched him hurry in that direction.

I looked at Bob again and I sighed, praying in my heart that nothing out of the ordinary will disrupt our plans.
"Stop staring at me" Bob told me and I rolled my eyes in response.
"Just please, make sure that boy is not on a sugar rush by the time you get him back." He warned.

"And that's the Bob, I was looking for" I grinned at him "honestly, you wouldn't be you if you don't remind me of that every time."
"That's because you spoil him too much" he shrugged.
"Yeah right."
"I'm not sure I'll be able to get any sleep till you both leave."
"I'm sure it's not that bad. You are such a baby! Just close your eyes a bit."

"I feel a bit hot though, I may take a nice cold bath first."
"I don't know" I shrugged "that can do the trick. Let me go check on our little man."
While I bathed Luke, I told him Bob wouldn't be coming with us and that he had to be quiet as he dressed.
"Yay..." He danced "we get to be the police again."
"When were we ever a part of the police Luke?" I looked at him in a funny way.

"When we were at the hospital." He answered with a hint of disappointment, as though he was wondering how I could have forgotten.
"With Daddy?" I asked him.
"Uhn - uhn" he affirmed.
I shook my head and finished bathing him. Thankfully, he was quiet as I dressed him and his usual excitement when picking his clothes, was low.

Once we finished, I went to check if Bob was still awake. He wasn't, so I locked the door and we went to eat at the restaurant on the ground floor. There, I got to find out that this place is a major tourist site. We met couples and family who had also come to have fun and I had the opportunity to introduce myself to a lot of people especially on the line, as we stood waiting to get our foods.

Luke had been so locked up, from the orphanage, to having a family, having a nanny, going to school and church. I doubt he knew anyone else asides people he met from those places and he was mostly shy - except to people we knew and spoke to anyways.

I encouraged him to go talk to a few kids and I made sure to introduce him when I met tourists like us. After a few minutes, someone entered the room and announced that the tour was about to begin. I was glad because Luke and I were done eating and I was just wondering what to do next.

"My name is Barbara and I'll be your tour guide today." She smiled brightly, looking from one end of the room to the other. She went through a list of the places we'd be checking out and I was excited to get the show on the road.

"For now, we'll just take you round but at the end of this tour, you get to decide where you'll like to spend your entire day. Here's our pamphlet." She passed it round to us and led us to the first location... the museum.

It was filled with ancient monuments and I wasn't such a fan but I had no choice. Thankfully, we left there quickly but Luke and I made sure to take pictures to show Bob later on. Then we moved to the amusement park.

The walk around was also quick but I could tell thag we were definitely coming back here with the way Luke bounced and kept on swinging my hand. Then we looked at their art gallery and it looked pretty awesome.

I took a few pictures and sent them to Emma. I figured that her clients may need some of these things, especially since she's into interior decoration. We were taken to a cinema and we had the opportunity of watching some 3-D short clips.

It was amazing! Luke screamed at some points but it was so loud in the theatre that no one really paid him any attention. Then we visited the Spa. I internally screamed as she showed us round, it was a dream come true. This was the ultimate break!

I had no doubt that I'd definitely be checking out the Spa sometime later. Unfortunately, we had to leave quickly too. The children seemed bored to be in such a place. But who cares right? They are chdren! They have no idea what it means to get a full body massage! Oh the joy!

I could feel myself dance in anticipation as we left there to be shown to a club and that was one place I wasn't so sure we'd be visiting at all.

"This has been such a great time, right?" Barbara shouted in excitement and everyone clapped. We'd spent nothing less than two hours just checking the place out.

"We'll call it a wrap for today but, I'd like you all to know you're free to check any of the places we went to and guess what!?" She didn't wait for a reply before shouting "it's free!!" Some guys hollered at the back, making me laugh.

"By 6p.m. this evening, we'll be watching a movie at the cinema and you're all invited. Although it's for free, popcorns and drinks are on you!" She told us and some people grumbled, she didn't pay them any mind.

"Now just before I get out of your hairs, we'd like to inform you that the next three days will be for exploring the inner beauties of this place. Afterwards, we'll be taking the adventure outside for you. Please check the pamphlet for more information and do have a great day!" She waved and skipped away as people began dispersing.

"Mummy?" Luke grabbed my hand and called.
"Yes dear" I looked away from the pamphlet to see what was wrong.
"Can we go and see the amusement park please? I promise we won't stay there for long?" He asked and I laughed at his poor effort to bribe me.

"It's fine. Come on" I took his hands and I looked at the map to find our way to the amusement park. It took a while, I didn't notice before because we had a tour guide but honestly, this place is a maze. Thankfully, because of the pamphlet, we were able to find our way. That, and the fact that so many children were heading in the same direction.

Luke had a swell time and I was so happy to see him having fun after all he'd been through. He was such a ball of excitement, I almost couldn't keep up. I texted Emma on her interior decor and what she thought of the art whilst watching out for Luke.

By the time he was done, I was just about ready to crash in my bed because contrary to what he said, we most definitely stayed long there.
