Chapter 49 : Ignoring Each Other

Srishti left the party without informing anyone. She wanted to get home as quick as possible. She didn't wait for Arjun. And was trying to keep herself calm.

Her heart was still thudding. She couldn't believe what was about to happen. How could she let anyone touch her. She's a married woman although she couldn't believe it herself. On the way back she couldn't help but to think about Arjun. She didn't knew if she still had any feelings for him. Tears welled up in her eyes. A lot of emotions went through her. Making it difficult for her to breath.

She looked at the ring in her finger. She wore it all the time. Whenever she missed him. But was he right when he said that he knew that she still loved him?

"Mam we are here"the drivers voice took her back to sense.

She wiped her face and stepped outside the car. After composing herself by taking a deep breath. She walked inside the house. Only to pause seeing an unusual gathering in the living room. And suddenly her eyes fell on him.

Jai.

He was sitting in the couch with Rishi and rishika. Talking to his grandmother.

"Srishti akka"rishika yelled happily. Seeing srishti back.

Jai quickly looked at the door while she was looking at him. He then gave her a million dollar smile. A smile which showed how much he missed her. She didn't expect him to return back soon. Yet she was relieved that he's finally here.

Rishika ran towards Srishti and hugged her. Srishti hugged her back. Lifting her up in her arms.

"I missed you"rishika said. Pouting. Srishti smiled and kissed her cheek.

"I missed you more"

They walked inside together.

"Srishti....you came? how was the party?"Kumari asked. Joining others from the kitchen.

"It was....good maa"she said. And then looked at Jai who was still smiling at her.

"Great. Dinner is almost ready. Go freshen up and join us in the table okay?"Kumari said.

"Maa....actually I had my dinner from the party and I'm full"she lied. Knowing very well that she's not yet ready to face Jai.

"Oh okay. Go upstairs and take rest then"kumari said. Srishti nodded and walked away without saying anything else. Jai felt that something was wrong. She didn't even smile back at him. He understood that she was tired and she needed rest.

Jai went to have dinner with his family. While Srishti took a long shower. By the time she freshened up and came outside. Drying her hairs. She saw him walking inside the room busy with a phone call. She quickly tensed up seeing him.

"No Ganesh. We agreed by Thursday right? Then why sudden change in plans?"he asked over phone.

He stopped when he saw her. She quickly dropped her head down and walked towards the door without disturbing. But then she felt his hand gripping her wrist. Making her shocked.

She looked back while he held her wrist. And was still talking to Ganesh over the phone. She tried to get rid of his hold but she couldn't. She finally gave up and waited for him.

After few minutes he dropped the call and looked at her.

"Someone is very much desperate to leave me alone here"he said smiling. Srishti kept looking at the ground.

"Hello madam I'm talking to you. What happened huh? All okay?"he sensed that she's uncomfortable

"Yes"she said. He left her wrist.
