VALLOWEASTEAR
It was the most anticipated day of the year. Streamers were hung, decoration's were placed, people were dressed up in costumes for the most exciting event which was the Halloween heist.
"I don't miss Porzingis. I'm glad the Knicks got rid of him." A detective said to another as they both rode the elevator up to the fourth floor.
"That's crazy. You never trade a seven-footer with three-point range." The brunette replied as the elevator doors dinged open to reveal easter bunnies running through the bullpen. "Why is the precinct full of bunnies?"
"This is still going on?" The male detective sighed.
"What is?"

It was six months earlier, the squad were all gathered in the briefing room on Halloween, "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome... to the Halloween heist!" Jake beamed as the squad cheered with anticipation. "Happy Halloween. I see you all have your game faces on. Special shout-out to Amy, who is clearly only wearing that pumpkin costume to conceal her heist equipment." He pointed out.
"Nuh-uh. I was greeting kids at the Halloween party." Amy denied.
"Nobody believes you," Rosa told the girl.
"Anyhow. Will there be a new champion crowned this year, or will I become the first-ever three-time winner, building on my glorious victories in heists one and five?" Jake mentioned.
"You didn't win the fifth heist. I did, when you proposed to me." Amy corrected.
"I won that year. You ended up with a modified version of that cummerbund." Holt piped up. "And you only got that because you slept your way into it." He pointed to Jake.
"Sorry, sir, that no-one here wants to bone you, you dusty old skeleton," Amy muttered back as the squad exclaim with laugher as she and Y/N high-five.
"Okay, so this segues me nicely into my next point." Jake jumped back into the conversation. "Decorum. This is supposed to be a fun day that brings us closer together. But in the past few years, I've noticed it trending in the opposite direction." He spoke his mind.
"Is this about the surveillance system I set up in your apartment?" Holt asked.
"No, but it is now." Jake's brows furrow. "Alright. Look. The point is, this year when we team up, there will be no betrayals. Because at the end of the night, we're all friends and we love each other." He made his way over to a desk. "And also, you'll be handcuffed to your partner. If you undo them, you lose. Now, in each envelope is a name. Four people will pick their partners." The boy explained as he pointed to the documents. "Since I'm already up here, I'll just go first. So--" The boy grabbed an envelope.
"No!" Rosa interrupted him. "You've obviously rigged this to get the best teammate. I'm not falling for that crap this time. So I am going to be partners with..." She ripped open the envelope. "Scully." The woman sighed. "You know what? We are friends. Best friends. Sorry, I took your envelope."
