Elfrida

The hair and makeup girl kept fussing with my hair claiming that on camera my hair, skin and eyes clashed too much. I wanted to tell her that I was as close to perfection as a high elf could get but she was human and wouldn't understand what it meant to have my skin, hair and eyes all be almost the same color. After the fifth time I finally waved her away.

Octavia sat by my side and gripped my hand tightly. Octavia was one of the most beautiful females I had ever seen. She was tall with an athletic build that left curves in all the right places. Her lovely wavy golden blonde hair hung down to the middle of her back. Her honey colored skin was satiny soft to the touch. Her body was prefect, but it was her face that always caught the eye. Her face was slightly wolfish with broad forehead, trimmed golden eyebrows, bedroom eyes the color of liquid gold with lightning around the pupil, high cheek bones, and a strong nose over full kissable lips and a slightly cleft chin.

She didn't want to be here doing this any more than I did but out of all the females who were rescued from the research facility, we were the only two who really knew what was going on. After all Claw had told me about most of the operation back when he was still convinced that I would spend the rest of my life in his. We had to be the ones to expose what was being done to us in that place even if it was yet to be revealed who was pulling the strings behind it all. So here we were in a private conference room with a single camera and the supernatural version of Barbara Walters, Heidi Dye.

Heidi Dye was a national news castor who broke the hardest hitting stories, like ours, all of the time. If she hadn't been interested in what had happened to us, I would have been greatly disappointed. Octavia only agreed to this interview because Heidi was doing it. Anyone else would have tried to exploit what had happened to us to incite riots against humans or worse, war between the supernatural and the mundane.

"I really wish we could just go home," Octavia whispered.

"Me, too. As soon as we are done with this interview, let's never think on that god forsaken place ever again," I whispered back.

"Deal," she said and kissed me.

She was careful not to smear either of our lipsticks, but she did manage to bring the moon fever to the surface of my skin. The scent of her desire hit me like a ton of bricks and only the thought of what we were about to do kept me from ripping her clothes off right here in front of everyone. Tavi gripped my hand harder.

"Can we get this over with," I asked loudly to no one in particular.

I suddenly wished we had negotiated to have this done at the Emersyn News building or even Inouye Media. At least that way I would have been in a familiar environment and my nerves wouldn't have been so bad. Plus, the fact that they couldn't wait until tomorrow for this, irked my nerves. Before anything else, Tavi and I were lycanthropes ruled by the moon being full, which meant we were on edge on days like today, the last night of the full moon.

"Heidi is almost ready, Ms. Ghentrie, Ms. Osther. If you would take your seats," one of the assistants said.

Tavi and I moved from the makeup chairs to the two leather winged back chairs that were set up in front of the camera. It was Tavi's turn to fuss with her clothes. She suddenly seemed more nervous now that she was sitting in front of the camera that wasn't even on yet. I grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze.

"You don't even have to talk if you don't want to," I said gently.

"The problem is, either way my parents are going to learn about what happened to me through this interview," she said.

"Parents? Your parents are alive," I asked.

Tavi had never mentioned her parents at all over the last month that we had been together. I just assumed that the twins' parents were long dead like my father and Syn's parents. I just looked at her until she decided to tell me more.
