Moments pass before we switch out of lightspeed, then we all gather in the middle of the ship. "Chewie, are you okay?" I ask only to get a weak roar back. "Good job kid." Han passes Finn and walks over to Chewie. "So you guys are criminals?" Han questions Rey and Finn.
"The First Order wants the map. Finn is with the resistance, I'm just a scavenger who got caught up in the mess." Rey states. "BB-8, show us the map." I say walking over to stand next to Rey. BB-8 rolls back and emits a blue holograph of the map.
"This map isn't complete, it's just a piece of it." Han sighs. "Ever since Luke disappeared, people have been looking for him. Myself, Emery and Leia included." He walks in a circle as he reads the map. "Why did he leave?" Rey asks. Han shoots me a pleading look, as if he's asking me to explain. "He was training a new generation of Jedi, myself and my fellow pawadans. A young boy, one of his apprentices turned against him. He destroyed it all. Luke felt like it was his fault so he disappeared, walked away from everything. Even the force. I haven't been able to sense him since the night of the attack." My eyes blur at the thought of that night.
Ben's eyes burn into my mind. "Why didn't he kill you?" Finn's question breaks my trance. "I want to believe it's because he loved me. He asked me to join him and when I refused, he attacked me. We fought as I pleaded with him not to go. He spared me because he didn't want to hurt me." I don't even bother holding back the tears that roll down my face.
Rey's hand rubs my back as she quietly comforts me. "Some say Luke went looking for the first Jedi temple." Han flatly says. "So the Jedi were real? My sister is a real Jedi?" Rey looks at me with an opened mouth. "I used to wonder about that myself, thinking it was all fake, a power holding together the dark and the light. But it turns out, it was all true." Finn walks over, standing next to Rey and I. Finn opens his mouth to say something but is interrupted by the terminal beeping.
Chewie stands to help only for Han to yell at him to rest. "We're visiting an old friend to get your droid home. This is our stop." Han turns off the terminal as I follow behind him. "You aren't going to take them back to the base, back to Leia?" My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. "Look kid, Leia doesn't want to see me. You can go with them and help them reach her, I know you want to find Luke and save Ben." The thought of being able to bring Ben back sent a warm feeling to my chest. Han lands the ship on the planet, handing Rey and Finn blasters as we walk off.
"I can handle myself." Rey refuses the hand blaster. "I know you can, that's why I'm giving it to you." Rey stows away the blaster behind her back as we make our way towards the city. "Solo what are we doing here?" Finn asks looking behind his back. "To get you and your droid on a clean ship. If we could find the Falcon on our scanners, so can The First Order." Han pushes open the door to Maz Kanata's place.
"Let Han do the talking and don't stare." I say holding the door open. "At what?" Rey and Finn say as they exchange looks. "Any of it." I turn around and follow Han into the watering hole. "HAN SOLO." Maz's voice silences the room, causing everyone to look at us. Maz quickly makes her way over to us immediately starting a conversation with Han. "How's my boyfriend Chewie? I always liked that wookiee." Maz's short figure comes into view. Han mumbles about how Chewie is working on the Falcon. "I assume you need something, let's get to it." She waves us through the crowded room. Maz presents us with a table full of food and drinks. Han slowly takes a sip before speaking. "Maz, I need you to get this droid to Leia." His eyes not meeting hers. "No, Han you've been fighting this fight for too long. Go home." She hisses at him.
"Please we came here for your help." I tried pleading with Maz. "What fight?" Rey looks at Han. "The only fight, against the dark side. Through the ages I've seen evil take many forms. The Sith, The Empire, and today it's the First Order. Spreading their dark shadow across the galaxy. We must fight them and win." Maz goes on. Finn starts to get uncomfortable by Maz's words. He jerks forward. "There is no fight against the First Order, not one we can win. Look around. I'm sure someone has recognized us and the First Order is on their way." Maz climbs on the table, staring at Finn.
