we can't let them see
all the horrors on TV
so we block the screens
and hope they'll live in peace.
but then they grow.
they grow
they see
they learn
what it all means.
they come back and scream,
their opinions
defeaning,
calling for
change
peace
action
we blame it on hormones
saying it will pass
and they will see sense.
and so
a new day dawns
a new wave
rolls in,
another generation
protected
another generation
ruined
another generation
censored.
