We Need A Reunion

Part 8

Louis and I look over and I started explaining.

"That call was from my Uncle, John Doherty. He's doing his annual live charity event next week where he chooses fifteen of his most improved, most successful or most liked artists that he's signed to his label and they each perform two songs. They help raise money for a charity of his choice, which is announced on the day. John has chosen Louis here to be one of those fifteen people. This is huge because it shows people how hard Louis has worked on his music as he's been recognised by John. It's also a great way to gather money for the charities as well. I've also hosted it for the past ten years now."

"John Doherty, as in the CEO of Audio Edits, John Doherty?" Harry asks. I nod in reply with a smile. "Mate he's like one of the most successful music producers of his time. This is huge! Congratulations!"

"Yeah it's great, but I wouldn't even be signed if it weren't for Kayleigh here." Louis said. The boys turned to look at me as I rolled my eyes playfully.

"How did you even get the chance for John to hear Louis' work?" Liam asked

"Oh that's all Louis. Louis had just asked me to be his manager and told me he had a couple songs he wanted to record. I asked John to borrow a recording studio for a day and he agreed thinking I just wanted to learn the controls more, like when I was little. So I took Louis in and we started recording and John had come in while Louis was singing. He listened to him for the duration of the song before asking him to properly sign for the company." I said smiling at the memory.

"Wow, so it was basically luck that Louis got signed?" Asked Harry.

"Yeah, but I would've asked John to take a look at Louis' songs after that if he wasn't there." I said shrugging. "I've known Uncle John for practically my whole life. I spent every weekend I could at his studio in Ireland."

"Wait, you're from Ireland? What part? It's not Dublin cause you haven't the accent." Niall said shocked.

"Donegal actually, I was there for all of my school years. Only really came to England for summer and Christmas. You're from Ireland aswell right? But not from the same part, closer to Dublin. Probably just outside of it I'd say judging from the accent." I said looking at Niall

"Yeah I'm from Mullingar. That's so cool. I'm not the only Irish one anymore!" Said Niall bouncing in his seat.

We all talked and got to know each other over the dinner before calling it a night and heading off to bed.

Before I went to bed I checked my phone again and texted Uncle John that Louis would be happy to do the charity event. Before I shut off my phone I saw I got a text from Jade Thirwall, who I've met through going to events with Louis.

The girls and I were wondering

sometime this week? It'd be
great to catch up again!

Yeah that's be great! Maybe we
could all grab lunch and do a bit

doing an interview later in the
day but the middle of the day
is free. How does 12:30 sound?

I smiled and shut off my phone. I admit I didn't think I'd have such good relationships with celebrities other than Louis. The girls and everyone else I've met has shown me that the media make things up as a way of getting themselves attention.

The boys are all nice and I'm glad I agreed to go to LA with Louis now. Meeting the boys was fun and it wasn't hard to talk to them. They're easy to carry a conversation with and I'm excited to get to spending more time with them. I'm also excited to see Jade, Jesy, Perrie and Leigh-Anne again.
