We Need A Reunion

Part 14

It didn't take long to find the boys. They were still stood in the same spot but instead of Ed and 5SOS around them they had the Little Mix girls. I wasn't too worried about Zayn and Perrie seeing each other again as they've made amends with each other and are actually friends now.

"Hey girls! I missed you" I say hugging each if the Little Mix girls.

"We literally saw each other last week Kayleigh" Jade said laughing.

"I know but a week is so long" I say before moving to the side and looking over my shoulder at Zayn. "By the way look who I found?" I grabbed Zayn's arm and dragged him in front of me.

"Jesus K I know you're excited and all but you don't have to pull my arm off!" Zayn said laughing.

"I know Z but who cares. Gotta go Shawn and Camilla are almost done." I say before pointing at the boys, especially Louis. "Don't move. I'll be right back."

I walked back onstage and introduced the next artist. Then went and talked to the boys some more, even after the girls left. We talked about everything and I could tell that they all missed each other. I continued the process, up to the stage to introduce the next artist and down the stage to talk to the boys, until it was Zayn's turn. He was before Ed. He got through his first song 'Tonight' fine. He then started singing his newest song 'Good Years'.

I was a bit worried, Zayn had told me that it was about the boys. You see, Simon had forced him out of the band and into a solo career as he thought it would put more attention on the band. It did, but Zayn was miserable, he didn't want to leave and he couldn't tell the boys the real reason either. Simon has made him swear not to tell them that he was forced to leave and instead let them think that he wanted to leave. He had always hoped that they wouldn't hate him for it. Zayn has asked if I could listen to the song last year and I said I would. He told me all of this and more after I heard it. He and I cried and we had hugged for like an hour after. I told him that he shouldn't have to release it until he was ready and he said he wouldn't release it until 2020, as nostalgia.

Hearing it again brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the first time I heard it. I turned to the boys and saw that Liam and Harry weren't much better, they had tears streaming down their cheeks while Niall and Louis' eyes were glossed over. When he finished and I came back onstage I gave him a hug and told him that I would talk to him in a minute.

Ed then came on and there were no hiccups with him. I pulled Zayn onto the dance floor that was in the middle of the place and made him dance with me during Ed'a first song 'Thinking Out Loud'.

"You ok?" I asked after a minute of silence.

"Yeah, just a little hard to see them as I played it for the first time in front of people that weren't you." Zayn said smiling sadly.

"I get that. After everything yous went through I can't imagine it not being hard. You should've seen them though. Haz and Li were crying and Lou and Ni were almost there. I think they know what the song was about."

"Yeah I seen. I just wish I could tell them the truth."

"You can."

"What do you mean?" Zayn asks confused.

"Well it was Simon who told you that you couldn't tell them. You now no longer work under his influence. Meaning you could tell them." I say.

"Wait. Really?" He asks with a little hope in his eyes.

"Yeah. You said that Simon said as long as your under his contract he can make you do what he wants, which is bullshit, but anyways you're not under his contract anymore. You're under John's."

"That's amazing! I have to tell them the truth. I've missed them so much. I miss performing with them, they were like my family."

"I know. They've missed you too. I'll try set up something for you. Make them all go and just listen. I'm with you whether or not they are."

With that we hug. Ed was almost done his second song so I said goodbye and went back onstage.

"Now for the last performer of the night we have Louis Tomlinson!" I say into my mic.

"Now I have no idea what songs he's singing because he wanted to surprise me. So Lou get up here and sing dammit!" I say playfully. Louis walks up and sings his first song 'Walls'.  After that he starts singing 'Don't Let It Break Your Heart'. I started tearing up again. This was my favourite song by Louis as he had wrote it for me.

He wrote it when my boyfriend of six years, Oliver, left me after finding out I was pregnant. I was in New York to do one of Louis' interviews when he moved from London with nothing more than a note saying 'We're over. Don't call or text unless you get rid of that thing'. I obviously was heartbroken but I decided to keep the baby. To make matters worse a few weeks later, I lost the baby. I was devastated and wouldn't speak to anyone but Louis and Zayn. The three of us got closer because of it. Louis wrote me this song to remind me that everyone has low times in life and it's how you deal with it that defines you. This only happened a few months ago and is still an open wound.

Zayn came and wrapped me up in a hug. I started silently crying into his shoulder. He kept whispering things like 'it's ok' and 'Lou and I are here'. Niall, Harry and Liam shot him a confused look. When the song was finished Lou came down and gave me a hug.

I was glad that John always finishes the event by telling everyone how much money was raised and all that jazz. Louis and Zayn walked me outside with the rest of the boys.

"Zayn can you come over please?" I ask quietly when we're outside.

"Yeah sure. Text me the address and room number and I'll be there." He says before Louis and I got in our car and drove away.
