We Need A Reunion

Part 24

"This is great. Normally it would take the whole day just to get the lyrics." Liam said. The other nod and thank me for helping.

"Now all we need is for someone to come operate the booth so we can record it." Harry said. I look at Louis and we have a silent conversation before he nods towards the booth.

"I can do it if you want." I say. "Though you'll have to give me a minute to look over it and see what kind of system they have."

"Wait you can operate a recording booth?" Niall asks.

"Yeah it was one of the first things I wanted to learn about. Uncle John let me learn from his best." I say smiling.

"That's great. It would take an hour to find someone available do it." Liam says.

I walk over to the booth while the boys set up. The controls are normally the same on all booths with little adjustments here and there. I sit and start pushing buttons and flipping switches. I put the headphone on and look at the screen to my left. A beat starts playing through the headphones and I add to it.

"Louis can you go and check the mics are working please?" I ask not looking away from the screen.

"Yeah sure." He says back and I see him walk into the booth and grab headphone and speak into the mic. I hear it through the headphones and make sure everything's running smoothly on the screen. I press a button and speak into the mic.

"Thanks, everything's ready now so whenever you guys are ready." I say. The boys nod and each grab a set of headphones and step up to a mic.

We work quickly and the vocals are recorded after only a few takes.

"Now lets see shall we?" I ask them as the stand behind me. We all agree the vocals are good and start recording the music to back it up.

"Harry can you hop on the piano. Louis drums and Niall guitar. Liam I need you to help me with this." I say. Harry, Louis and Niall nod and walk to the instruments I listed. I instruct Liam on what to do while I start recording everything.

Another couple of takes and we're finished. I play the song for them and they all start cheering.

"Now all that's left to do is name it." I say to them. They all think for a while and there's silence between them for a few moments.

"What about Defences?" Louis asks. We think it over before shaking our heads.

"What about Armour?" Niall says after a few more moments. I nod thinking it over.

"I like it." says Liam and Louis and Harry nod as well.

"Armour. It is then." I say typing in then name of the file before downloading it onto a memory stick. I hand the memory stick over to Harry when it's finished.

"That has to be our record for the shortest time in creating and recording a song from scratch." Harry says taking the stick. "Thanks a lot we couldn't have done it without you."

"Yes you could've. You're all talented and each have your own strengths. Yeah it might've taken longer if I wasn't here but you still would've made an amazing song." I say with a shrug. I go and sit next to Liam and Niall over on the couches while Harry and Louis stay over near the booth.

"Just take the compliment, Kay." Louis says.

"Oh like you're one to talk." I say smirking. "Remember the first time John heard you sing?"

Louis blushes and tells me to shut up while the others and I laugh.

"He wouldn't take the compliment until John has to basically shove it down his throat. All he said was 'you've got a good voice' as well." I say and they start laughing harder as Louis blushes more.

"You try taking a compliment like that from somebody who hears a thousand good voices a year." Louis says.

"True." I say tilting my head slightly.

"But it is true Lou. You have got a good voice." Harry says. Louis blushes again.

"So have you." Louis says in a quiet tone. I look at Niall and we smirk as Liam looks at us confused. I mouth 'later' to him and he nods. I look back at Niall who's still smirking at Louis and Harry who are both blushing slightly.

"Ok that's enough." I say standing up and marching over to the two of them. I grab their arms and make them face each other before lightly smashing their heads together. They stand there in shock but don't pull away. I turn back around and walk back over to sit beside Niall. "That's better." I say and Niall and I giggle before he nods.

The two stand there frozen some more before pulling back and blushing more. They start stuttering trying to get a sentence out but can't. I laugh as I turn to Niall.

"Should we help?" I ask.

"Yes I think we should." he says and we both stand up again. We walk over to them and I stand next to Louis while Niall stands next to Harry. I close Louis mouth before turning to Harry.

"What Lou is trying to say is 'will you go on a date with him?'" I say. Niall in turn closes Harry's mouth.

"And what Harry is trying to say is 'yes'. Isn't that right boys?" Niall says.

They hesitate before both nodding.

"Great Lou will plan a date for you and he'll text you the when's and where. Niall? I think it's time we take our leave." I say and Niall and I walk away giggling.

"Ok what was that?" Liam asks.

"That Lima Bean was the captain and first mate of the Larry Stylinston ship doing our duty to the world." Niall says while I nod.

"Don't worry, they both liked each other and just needed a little push. You should've heard Louis when he told me about you lot. He wouldn't stop talking about Harry. Kept saying things like 'he's got amazing green eyes' and 'his curly hair is the best'. My personal favourite though is when he called me just to scream at me that he's got dimples." I say and we laugh. The other to come over and sit down together holding hands. Niall and I smile at that.

"Finally." Niall whispers to me. I laugh and nod back.

"Now we just need a plan for how the Ziam ship is going to set sail." I whisper back. He nods and laughs and we turn back to the others to find them looking at us.

"What were you two whispering about?" Louis asks looking at us suspiciously.

"That's for us to know and for you to find out." We say in sync. We look at each other in shock before turning back to the others. We bust out laughing and they join in.

"I think it's time for me to go." I say standing up and checking my watch. "Don't forget to show management the song and to get some sleep as well. It may only be 9 o'clock but you'll need the sleep."

"Thanks again Kayleigh. For helping with everything." Harry says blushing and I nod. I walk out after gathering my things. I return home to find someone standing outside the door.
