Chapter 42

Normal POV:

"I got some news! Hearts is awake!" Oren yells. Ecca is stunned, the glass in her hand falls on the ground and breaks. She is so shocked that she nearly shouts.

The next second, she immediately jumps off her bed and runs to Hearts's room. But she falls on the ground in three seconds because she is still hurt and powerless.

"Ecca?" Kamin walks forward and lift her up. She grabs Kamin's shoulders and asks her to bring her to him. Kamin and Oren looks at each other hesitantly. Lagss frowns and helps her back on her bed.

"Ecca, you are weak and injured yourself, so why don't you rest and we'll bring Hearts to you when you two both get better?" Lagss asks. Ecca shakes her head.

"No! I will see him now." Ecca says very firmly. Then she tries to get up but she falls down again. She grins and looks at Fu, seeking help from him. He shrugs, ignoring her signal for help.

"I will go to him alone then!" Ecca rolls her eyes when Fu rejects to help her. An awkward silence stays in the room when Ecca gets off her bed again. Kamin and Oren sighs and finally agree to take her to Hearts. "Thanks twins, you're the best!" Ecca smiles.

The twins brings her to Hearts's room. He is in his bed and Zamasu is sitting next to him. Ecca smiles surprisingly. "Mind-reader! Sama!" She exclaims. The two men turns around to her.

"Ecca...?" They mumbles at the same time. Ecca nods and rushes to them, giving them both a big hug. Hearts slowly leans forward to her and hugs her back. Ecca feels so sorry about what happened to Hearts. She wants to give him the biggest hug she can give him as a apologize. After a round of warm cuddle, Hearts lets Ecca sit on the side of his bed next to him.

"Ecca... you came here to see me earlier?" Hearts smirks while holding her hand. Ecca is surprised that Hearts actually knows about that. She blushes slightly and nods. Hearts can't move a lot so he just looks at Ecca's blushing face playfully.

"Yes, I did," Ecca answers as she blushes messily, "I was so worried so I asked Fu to bring me here this morning so that I can see you... if it wasn't me being so careless, you wouldn't be here, badly injured." She leans closer to Hearts and puts her head on his shoulders. Hearts takes a peek of the thoughts running through Ecca's head.

"Don't be silly, Ecca," Hearts kisses on her forehead on comfort her, convinces her that this is not her fault. "Compared to this, it is nothing. I don't want you to get hurt, not a single bit. I must protect my favourite little demon at all cost. Because I love you, Ecca."

"Hearts..." Ecca smiles, closes her eyes and enjoys the presence of Hearts next to her.

On the other hand, Zamasu sits on a chair next to the bed. He looks at them and his eyes fills with jealousy. *Why, Hearts... Ecca is mine and you don't dare lay your filthy finger on her...* He secretly holds a fist while looking at them.

"um, sorry to break the atmosphere, but are you two forgetting about me?" Zamasu coughs a little to draw the two other's attention, "anyway, Ecca, do you know who's the one that attacked Hearts?" he asks.

Ecca shakes her head. Hearts immediately reads Zamasu's mind. He is quite shocked about his plan and he isn't sure if that's going to work. But he smirks slightly. *Who knows? This maybe be a nice way though...*

"I don't know. Probably some random soldiers in the army. And they would be dead by now," Ecca tips her chin and answers, "Oh, I saw a demon soldier standing there! Maybe it's him. I remember I killed him immediately." She shrugs.

"No, Ecca," Zamasu says in a serious face, "the one that nearly kill Hearts, is..." Zamasu stops a little, then whispers in Ecca's ears coldly.

"... Fu."

"WHAT?! Impossible!" Ecca shouts, jumps a little. She can't believe this. *No, this isn't true! Fu won't hurt my friends.* She shakes her head. But she can't think of any reasons that Zamasu would slander this on an innocent potato like him.

"Ecca, think about it. He showed up late at that time. And he just showed up right after Hearts was attacked. Isn't that a little bit too perfect for a coincident?" Zamasu asks. Hearts thinks a bit, then he nods.

"If you mention it, it seems that he is suspicious..." Hearts says. . Although all the evidences points at him, Ecca still doesn't believe that Fu would do such thing. Fu is just like a simple, childish, pure little kid. Why would he do such thing?

"No... Fu won't do such thing!" Ecca shouts, convincing the two men as more as convincing herself. Her heart is shaking, almost believing what they say is true. But then she thinks of the day she didn't trust him and he was then tortured by his own uncle...

She shakes her head. "No, I believe he won't. He don't have any reasons to do so." Ecca explains. But Zamasu smirks, shaking his head.

"No, Giggles. He has a reason," Zamasu tips Ecca's chin and says, "Remember that time he took the all of use for an "experiment"? Hearts save us all from him. Maybe this s his revenge..." Zamasu points out. Ecca's mind is shaking.

"Ecca, Zamasu is right. There's a high possibility that he would be the one who tried to kill me." Hearts agrees. Ecca's mind is very messy. She of course doesn't believe Fu would do such thing. But "believing" isn't a evidence to prove that Fu isn't the killer.

"I... I'm going to ask him." Ecca takes a few deep breathes and says. Zamasu sighs and stops her. He knows Ecca won't accept that but he needs to make her believe.

"Look Giggles, if you ask him now, he won't say it for sure cause he knows you will turn away from him." Zamasu explains. Ecca feels bad now. She still doesn't believe Fu would do such thing and she wants to know the truth about this.

"Be patient darling, I'm sure one day the truth will be exposed later." Hearts smiles at his lover and kisses on her cheeks, "Now most importanyly, we both need to get some rest." Ecca smiles and nods.

"Giggles, I think we shouldn't disturb Hearts. He need to rest." Zamasu then moves his eyes away from Ecca and Hearts. He doesn't want to see them being close in front of him.

Ecca looks at Hearts. He gives her a smile. "You can always come and visit me," Hearts touches her hair and says, "Looks like lord Zamasu has something to tell you. Why don't you follow him now?"

Ecca giggles and nods. Before she goes, Hearts leaves a kiss on her lips. Ecca blushes and enjoy this kiss she longed. Zamasu rolls his eyes. "Done? Let's go, Ecca." Zamasu says coldly and picks Ecca up on his shoulders. He then leaves the room with Ecca without saying a word.

"Sama!? Zamasu?! Put me down!!" Ecca yells when they walk in the corridor. "No." Zamasu doesn't stop walking. Ecca doesn't really understand why he would take her away from Hearts. But then her mind pops up a word. She giggles.

"Zamasu, answer me," she smirks at him, "are you jealous?"

"What? No!" Zamasu blushes a bit and denies it. *only mortals are foolish enough to be jealous over someone. A perfect immortal like me will never be jealous!* Zamasu refuses to believe that he is actually jealous over Hearts and Fu...

"Yes you are! Look at your face, it's blushing!" Ecca giggles playfully. Zamasu turns his head around. "No I'm not! I'm not jealous!"

"Hehe, a double negative equals a positive! You can't deny this, Sama!" Ecca giggles and glares at his embarrassed face. "I'm not, because you will belong to me the sooner or later." Zamasu smirks and whispers in her ears. Ecca blushes deep red.

The battle of Kodaika has came to an end. Yet it's just the start for the three of them, Hearts, Zamasu and Fu, to fight and get Ecca's heart.
