- haha Ik some of these things I say contradict to the book and tv show/movie regarding Buck. I just felt like altering some things to better fit how I view his character :)
• It's actually really fun having Buck as a father because of how young he is and how fun he is.
• Buck was about 13 years older than Darry, but they met in a football mentor program when Darry was younger. Therefore Darry and Buck are still good friends to this day and Buck is almost like the older brother Darry always wanted.
• This means you grew up close to the Curtis family, particularly Soda because he was close to your age.
• And because you were close to Soda, you were also close to Steve.
• Aside from the Curtis brothers, you were also pretty decent friends with Dallas and Two-bit.
• Dallas because.. well he lived with you.
• Two-bit because he (usually) had successful attempts at sneaking into the bar and having a few drinks.
• You've been helping out in the bar since you were around 10. Starting off with simple things like taking orders or cleaning glasses. As you grew older you figured out how to make drinks and serve customers (illegally oops, but it's 1965 so who's gonna tell).
• Your father fought in Korea when you were really young. He hasn't served in the military since, but because of his service he gets to take you to the father-daughter military ball every year in downtown Tulsa.
• Your mom left when you were younger, and Buck doesn't have much family locally so it's just the two of you.
• When Dally gets into trouble and he's on a break with Sylvia you're the first person he'll call.
• Girls in school all think you hook up with Dallas because he lives with you.
• Also all of your girlfriends think your dad is super cute and it's the grossest thing ever.
• Boys from school come into the bar thinking you or your dad will serve them just because you know them (and they never get served).
• Your dad sends you to a music shop in downtown Tulsa with some money twice a year to go pick out new music for the jukebox that will "appeal to the younger generation."
• You always get to drive your dads T-bird and it makes Dal super jealous.
• You and Dally get in arguments over who gets to drive the T-bird that day.
• Your dad doesn't let you bring friends in the bar but usually if there's a big crowd you'll sneak Soda and Steve in. Buck never notices, but one time Dallas noticed and he was mad at you from an earlier argument so he told on you.
• All of the business owners in Tulsa know you since your dad also owns a business. You can't go anywhere without some older person telling you "hello". Steve and Two-bit always laugh over that.
• Tim Shepard has a well-known crush on you. One time he went to your window in the middle of the night trying to get you to sneak out. Buck caught him and ended up chasing him down the road. Dallas made fun of Tim the next day and told everyone in the gang what happened.
• One time you were hanging out with some girl friends from school at Dairy Queen and you asked Buck to come pick you up. He ended up seeing Dally, Pony, & Johnny on the way to get you. He ended up hanging out with them, forgetting that you were still at Dairy Queen. You had to call Steve to take you home that night and Steve was super annoyed with you for it.
• You grew up a tomboy because you were constantly surrounded by guys. Because of this, you wore jeans or pants often. Even though as a teen you weren't necessarily still a tomboy, wearing pants to school was questionable and teachers/students definitely noticed.
• One time Buck went out of town for the weekend. You and Dallas threw the biggest greaser party (probably the best party in Tulsa ever).
• Some socs ended up crashing your party and a big fight broke out, it ended up ruining the night. You were lucky the cops never showed up, but word did spread around town and Buck found out a few days later.
