Bonus  Chapter 2

Ana

I drive us to a car showroom. As we approach the entrance, Chris asks me what we’re doing here.

“A friend of mine works here. I’m going to say ‘hi’ to her, first. Before we go to the place I wanted to bring you to.” I lie.

This is the place. My friend does not work here, that’s bullshit. Oops, I did it again.

We get down the car and it hits me that I have to find a way for him to stay out here so he sees when I drive the car out.

He goes to open the door for me when I yell,

“Wait, Chris. Wait here, please?”

“You don’t want me going with you?”

“You don’t have too, hunny. I’ll just be a few, wait here?”

He looks at me weirdly for a while before he nods standing a side. I kiss him on the cheek before walking through the doors of the building.

I step in front of the counter,

“I’m looking for Mr. Dan?” The guy that I made the arrangements with the last time I was here.

The guy tells me to wait a few before Dan steps out and shakes my hand warmly.

“Hello, Mrs. Wylder. Here to collect your car?”

I nod and he leads the way. He gives me the car and nods at me telling me to have fun with ‘her’ – supposedly the car.

I drive out from the back, seeing Chris still standing on the side outside, with his hands in his pockets, he’s looking intently at the doors. Probably waiting for me to emerge from them but I’m behind him. HAH.

I honk loudly, catching his attention. He turns but he doesn’t know I’m driving the car because the windows are tinted. He furrows his brows and he looks confused. He’s ogling though. He really loves this car. That’s why I got it for him.

I park it aside before opening the door and stepping out. Making sure he’s still looking, I close the door and lean on it, smiling widely at him. His jaw drops before he jogs over.

“Ana?”

“Yeah?”

“It’s a Mini Countryman.”

The car is red just like he likes it. I don’t know why he wouldn’t just buy it if he wants it so much. Well, he doesn’t have to anymore. He’d always tell me how cute he thinks the car is. I have to admit, it’s really cute. I’d get a Mini Cooper…..but that’s small as fuck and sooner or later we’re going to have a family, so.

“Mhm.”

“Is it yours?” He’s so excited, he’s jumping like a little boy.

I shake my head and he stops, slumping over. I laugh.

“Heads up.” I toss the keys to him and he lifts his head just in time to see it coming, catching it in his hands.

“It’s yours.”

He gasps.

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No. No! NO! Is it really?! Ana! Really?” He grabbing at my shoulders, smiling so widely and I would do anything to make him this happy all the time.

“Yes, Chris. It’s for you.”

“No way, how’d you get your hands on this?” He walks around it, touching, feeling the car. He disappears from my sight as he crouches down, his voice sounding distant and muffled.

“I bought it, smarty.” I rolled my eyes and he stands back up. He’s no longer smiling.

“You bought this?”

I nod.

“With your money?”

Nod.

“For me?”

Nod again.

He walks over and hands me back the keys.

“I can’t take it.”

“Excuse me?”

He shakes his head.

“You don’t like it?”

“No, I love it! I love this car! It’s just, you shouldn’t spend so much money on me. Ana, shit that’s a lot of money. Our car is fine, isn’t it?”

He thinks I shouldn’t get him gifts just because I’m a girl.

“You’re sexist! Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I can’t gift my husband! I can afford it! Don’t you ever underestimate me. I’m leaving.” I open the door to get in but he pushes it close again.

“No, that’s not it. You can, but a car! It’s a big gift, no?”

“So what?”

“You should know that I don’t underestimate you. But I just feel like it’s too much. Like I’m undeserving..?”

“Accept it.”

Chris

“Accept it.”

What could I have possibly done to deserve this car?

“You deserve it for being the best husband any one could ask for. I’ve been meaning to get you a gift – this gift but I never had like – so I’ve been saving. For a while now. And you’ve been so busy lately, I figured you need this, so we could getaway for a bit. Go for a drive or something.” She explains softly, shrugging.

“I love you. You are the best like if I could have anyone in this world, including Megan Fox, I’d still choose you. Thank you. Not only for the car, but for marrying me and for being alive and everything, just for being you. Oh my, I can’t believe it!” I laugh covering my mouth.

“A Countryman! Wow.”

She laughs and it’s like the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. It’s like, her laugh should be every single goddamn sing in existence.

“Get in, loser.” She walks over to the other we drove here with, not hesitating to smack my head as she brushed past me.

“Hey,” I call and she stops, turning back to look at me with her eyebrows raised, a small smile playing at her lips.

“See you at home, baby.” I wink, getting into the car, sticking the key into the ignition.

I make the car roar loudly before zooming off.

I sigh, contently. I love Ana.
