“I was just attracted to you at the moment.”
“And I just ran out of band aids, I don’t even know where to start. Cause you can bandage a damage, but you never really can fix a heart.”
Sunday
A week went by as I started my new job. It was cool, wasn’t too much, wasn’t exhausting. I made a new friend, he was one of the workers there too. His name was Riley. Riley Lloyd. He was really nice to me, particularly me. It didn’t bother me, it was nice having more than one friend.
Mr. McGraw was acting really weird, every now and then, I’d catch him staring at me. It gave me a really uncomfortable feel, but I’d smile back and scurry out of his sight. Also, I needed the money, so I tolerated.
3:27 pm
“Ana, you’ve been cancelling on me all week! Is it because I tried to kiss you? I’m sorry, I was just attracted to you at that moment, I didn’t think it’d upset you that much.” Chris threw his hands up in the air, letting out frustrated groan.
That pierced right through fragile heart.
I was just attracted to you at that moment…
“Attracted to me at that moment? Oh. I actually thought – you know what? Forget it, I’m not even mad. I – ,” then, my phone started blasting in my pocket, cutting me in the middle of my blow up.
The name on my screen shined,
Riley ‘the hunk’ Lloyd
He must’ve punched it in himself, the cocky asshole.
“Who’s that? Your boyfriend?” Chris boomed.
What the actual - ? Was he serious? Wasn’t it obvious I was more fond of him than I ever was of anyone else?
I was so mad at the time, I wasn’t even thinking straight.
“Maybe! At least he cares for me.”
I answered the call.
“Ana!”
“Yeah? What’s wrong?”
“Where are you?”
“It’s my day off, I’m at home.”
