Chapter 5 - Phone Number

Conner walked inside the library.

He was wearing his black and red leather jacket and some black jeans, and, surprisingly, he was smiling.

He looked around.

The room wasn't very crowded yet, and y/n still wasn't there.

He sighed, and started roaming around, but soon he got tired, and decided to sit down and wait.

After almost half an hour later, as he was about to leave, she entered.

Seeing him, y/n got closer.

She was alone this time, no friends there to interrupt them.

"So... I guess you remembered what you were going to ask me" she smiled, leaning on the table in front of him.

"Yeah... I was wondering if you wanted to go out and have a drink, later..."

"Sorry, but I'll have to pass"

"O-oh... ok, I-I just-

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding" she laughed "You really got panicked, huh?... I finish really late here today, since I'm covering my dad's shift, but if that's ok for you..."

"Well, being home late isn't a problen for me... I can wait here until you finish. I mean, It's not like I have anything to do, so..."

"Ok then" she giggled "But I gotta warn you, things can get a little boring..."

"Don't worry" he smiled.

As the hours quickly passed by, Conner found himself staring at her more and more often.

He watched as she smiled at her clients, from his seat at the other end of the room, and couldn't stop doing so.

And she knew that, even though he tried to hide it.

She had caught him looking her way more than one time, and it always made her blush.

Eventually, it became 10 a.m., and everyone else left, leaving y/n and Conner alone in the silent library.

"So... is your shift over?"

"Yeah, it is"

"Great! Let's go"

Y/n turned off all the lights, took her stuff, and walked out with him.

"Where do you wanna go?" Conner asked, sliding his hands in his pockets, while she locked the library's door.

"Ehm, I don't know... surprise me" she smiled.

Conner blushed.

"O-ok... follow me, then" he smiled back, embarassed.

They walked in an ankward silence for a bit.

Neither of them knew what to say.

Neither of them wanted to ruin that beautiful moment with some useless words.
__

They arrived in a dark alleyway.

"Conner, I swear, if you're taking me here to rape me or something..."

"What? No, no... don't worry" he laughed "Nothing like that... I took you here because there's my favourite bar"

"But there's nothing here!"

"Trust me, there is"

They walked towards the end of the road, and arrived in front of a steel door.

Conner knocked.

A few moments later, the little window on it opened, revealing a pair of dark green eyes.

"Password" said the deep voice of the man behind it.

"Tropical" Conner answered, winking at her.

Y/n blushed, giggling a little.

The door opened, and the guy behind it moved to the side, letting them in.

As they walked past him, the man nodded at Conner, smiling.

"Long time no see, Conn"

"Yeah, I know" he said, patting his shoulder.

They walked to the counter, sitting on the stools in front of it.

"This place is awsome!" she tought.

The bar gave off a cool and warm vibe, maybe because of the dimmed lights and wood walls, covered in posters and photos.

Everyone of it's clients looked serious and tough. The type of people you would never get in a fight with.

The bartender got closer to them.

"Hey Conn" he nodded.

"Sup, Dan" he smiled "We'll have..."

He turned to her.

"What are you drinking?"

"I'll have what you're having" she said, curious to know what he'd have ordered.

"Oh. Well, in this case... two whiskeys, Dan"

"On it" said the cold, blue-eyed man.

"I didn't see you as a whiskey guy" she said, impressed.

"Well, I like all types of alcohol" he smirked.

"Good to know" she smirked back, making him blush.

A few moments later, the man Conner had called 'Dan' came back.

"Here's your whiskeys" he said, giving them their drinks.

"Thanks" Conner nodded, as Dan left them alone.

Y/n took her glass.

"Cheers" she said, rising it.

Conner smiled, making his glass gently hit hers.

"Cheers"

After a couple more whiskeys and some talking, midnight arrived.

"Going already?" Asked Conner disappointed, as she took her stuff to leave.

"Yeah, sorry... I've got things to do tomorrow morning and I gotta wake up early..." she said, sadly.

"Well... I had a good time"

"...I did too" she smiled, making him blush and look away.

She took a pen from her purse, and wrote something on a napkin.

"Here's my number... text me, if you want to go out again"

He looked up from his glass.

"I will" he smiled.

She blushed, and kissed him on the cheek.

"See you soon, Conner" she said, leaving.

"See you soon"

Alone again, he kept on drinking his whiskey, sighing.

He smiled, looking at the napkin.
