It was almost 1 a.m.

Conner was still at the bar, when he got a phonecall.

It was Lawrence.

"Conn? Where the fuck are you?"

"Law... I diiid it!" he blurred.

"Did what?"

"I asked her out! I meeeean... it technically wasn't a date, but..."

"I'm happy for you, buddy! Congrats!... Wait, are you drunk?!"

"...ehm..."

Lawrence sighed.

"Where are you?"

"At the Foxtrot... why?"

"Stay there, I'm coming"
__

After ten minutes, Lawrence entered the bar.

He walked up to his best friend, seeing him in front of the counter.

"Hey, bud"

"Law! What's up?" Conner blurred.

"...Come on, let's go"

He put the drunk man's arm around his shoulers, holding him as they walked outside.

"She's the one, Law, I can feel it..." Conner smiled, holding on to his friend as they walked through the dark alley.

Lawrence sighed.

It was stupid of Conner to think that, since he had just met her and didn't even know her that well, but he decided to let him talk.

It would have been useless anyway.
He was drunk, nothing he said could make him change his mind.

It usually didn't work when he wasn't either, but at least when he was sober he was just stupid.

Right now, he was drunk and stupid.

"She's perfect, dude... she... she's smart, she's hot... like, REALLY hot!"

They arrived at the car.

Lawrence opened the door, making Conner slide into the passenger seat,
as he kept on talking.

He sat down next to him, starting the engine.

"...And she loves turtles! She's gonna love Maximus two..."

"I'm sure she will, Conn" Lawrence smiled, watching his best friend.

He was such a hopeless romantic...
__

They drove in silence all the way home.

It was very late, and the streets of LA were deserted, except for a couple cars that passed by once in a while.

Conner was resting his head on the window, looking outside.

He seemed lost in his thoughts, not really paying attention to his sorroundings.

Lawrence drove the car through the gate and parked in front of their house.

It was a big villa, with white walls and plants all around it. On one side, a  large pool, on the other, the garage.

"Conn, we're home... let's go" Lawrence said, getting out of the car and opening Conner's door.

"...ok..."

Again, his arm wrapped around Lawrence's shoulders.

They slowly reached the front door, and entered. Lawrence helped him walk upstairs, and opened the door to his room, letting him go inside.

Conner threw himself on the bed, falling asleep almost immediately.

"Goodnight, buddy" Lawrence whispered, smiling.
__

The next morning, Conner woke up feeling very dizzy and hungover.

He slowly got up from the bed, and immediately took the bin beside the door and threw up in it.

Breathless, and with a disgusting taste of puke and alcohol in his mouth, he put it back down, cleaning his lips with his arm.

"I shouldn't have drank so much..." he muttered.

He opened his bedroom's door, walking into the corridor.

He didn't want to hear his friends laugh at him, it was too early for that kind of bullshit (or at least he thought it was, he didn't actually know what time it was), so he decided to go directly to the bathroom to take a shower, first.

He closed the door, and quickly took off his clothes, realizing he had slept in what he was wearing yesterday.

He entered the shower, closing the opaque glassdoor behind his naked body, as the hot water ran down his skin.

He immediately felt better.
__

After ten minutes, he walked in the living room, wearing a pair of black gym shorts and a white t-shirt and drying his wet hair with a grey towel.

"So, Lawrence told me about last night..." Owen smirked, getting up from the sofa "...Had fun?"

"Yeah..." he smiled, taking an apple from the basket on the counter "It was great... she was great..."

"Did she say anything about another date?" Lawrence asked, sitting on a stool next to them.

"Not really... but she said she had a good time..." Conner answered, biting his apple.

Owen sighed, disappointed.

"What?"

"Then it's over, man... she doesn't like you..." Lawrence added.

"No, she really meant it!... She left me her phone number, too!"

"What!? Let me see!"

Conner took his phone from the pocket, and, with it, the napkin.

"Wow... this is good! Very good!"

"Good? This is GREAT!"

"Calm down, guys..." Conner laughed.

"No, Conn, you don't get it! This means she's really intrested! That it's not just a one-night-stand kind of thing!"

"Yeah! It's huge!"

Conner looked down at the napkin.

"I mean... maybe you're right..."

Under the numbers, a note.

Here's my number, xoxo
Y/n

"See? A girl that sees you as a one-time thing doesn't write stuff like this! Xoxo... That's two kisses! Two!"

"...Yeah..." Conner blushed, imagining her warm lips on his cheek.

He really would have enjoyed that.

"You should save it" Lawrence continued "And text her something... I don't know, ask her out"

"Isn't it too soon? I mean, I just saw her yesterday... I don't wanna sound desperate..."

As he said that, his phone made a noise.

"What's that?" Owen asked.

"A...text..." said Conner, unlocking his phone.

"From who?"

"...From her!" said Conner excited.

Then, the anxiety arrived.

"...What do I do now?"
