Conner drove in silence, thinking.

His eyes were on the street but his mind was elsewhere.

The cool breeze of the night bursted through the open windows of the car, messing his hair up, as he fastly drove around the city.

"Did that really happen?" He kept asking himself "or was it just a dream?"

He was so happy, and yet so scared.

What if she didn't like him like he did? She said she did, but he felt way more than that.

He didn't just 'like' her...

The anxiety was killing him.
"She's just like Ashley, she'll break your heart" his brain kept on telling him.

In fact, Ashley, in his mind, was like a song that's been stuck in your head for too long.

It's great in the beginning. You sing along to it, you whistle it at work...
but as time passes, you start to hate it always more, whishing it was gone.
It drives you crazy.

Usually, another song would help, replacing the old one, and that was the effect y/n was having on him.

But you never know if it's going to stay like that forever, making you feel happy, or if it's going to become like the last one, in the end.

Fortunately, he arrived home.

He sighed, and stopped the car.

"No, she's not like Ashley" he convinced himself "She's better than that"

Conner turned off the engine, and got out of the car, locking it and sliding the keys back into his pocket.

Then his phone rang.

He took it, and smiled, seeing y/n name pop up on the screen.

"Hey"

"Hi" she said softly "Just wanted to check how you were doing..."

"I'm great, thanks" he chuckled "I always am, when I'm talking to you"

He opened the door, entering the living room.

Luckily, it was empty.

"They're probably upstairs" he thought.

"So... that's it? Nothing else you wanted to tell me?" he smiled, sitting on the sofa.

There had to be another reason.

"Well, I was thinking about that thing I said about drawing you, and... I mean, since I'll go to the library to help my father again, tomorrow, I was wondering if you wanted to come around closing time..."

"So that you can draw me?" he smirked.

"Yeah! I mean, if it's ok for you..."

"Sure, I'd love that" he said softly.
"...and it'd be just us? I mean, I was just curious... I-I'm not talking about... I-

"I know, don't worry" she giggled "...Yes, it would be just us"

"Oh, ok" he said embarassed, running a hand through his hair "...see you tomorrow, then"

"Yeah, see you tomorrow" she said softly.

He couldn't see her, but he knew she was smiling.

He could feel it, and it made him smile too.

"Goodnight y/n"

"Goodnight"
