I dreamt of the war. The pain and suffering. I was on Ares. We were flying over and seeing the rats kill one another. Bats with riders were swooping down and killing any rat they saw. No matter whose side they were on.

Suddenly I was battling the Bane. He struck Ares down. I felt the pain of his death all over again. I stabbed him.

I was then standing in the field full of starshade when the ants attacked. I watched Hamnet as he passed.

I was in Regaila within a second, I read the letter saying Twitchtip had died. I remember her standing in the maze telling Ares and me to go.

I wake up. Panting. Why so much death? I've experienced so much death in the few years I was there, it truly is a violent place to be.

I look at my clock. It read 11:43. I sigh and pull back the blankets. I get up and walk out of my bedroom. The boxes were still there by the door. I pick them up and put open them up.

~~~
An hour later everything is put away, even the sword which is sitting on my bedroom dresser. I sit on the couch.
"Ugh, I'm hungry," I say to myself. I get up and throw on a shirt and some jeans. I grab my keys, phone, and wallet. I walk out and lock the door.
I walk past Central Park. I remember what one leads to the Underland. I'm tempted to go now. But there are too many people and I don't have the right equipment. I need flashlights. Also, the waterway is right there. Unless if the scouts ate still there I might be able to get a ride to Regalia. I stop myself right in the middle of that thought.
I keep walking down the road. To the closest restaurant, which happens to be a McDonalds.
~~~

I finish up eating and walk out of the McDonalds door. I walk 5 blocks towards the big mall.

Okay, Gregor just go in and grab the things you need. I say to myself. I only need batteries, some flashlights. Some water in case I get lost. Anything could happen in the Underland, you have to be prepared for the worst.

I walk into a camping store and come out with 10 waterproof flashlights and 2 packages of 30 pack double a's.

There was a convenient store just across the way. I end up walking out with some water bottles and food for dinner tonight. I bought some stuff to make a salad.

Okay, tonight I will go I tell myself over and over again until I arrive at my apartment. 15 minutes flew by so quickly.

"Hello," I look over and see Brea walking out.

"Hello," I say. She walks past me and towards the elevator. I unlock my door and stumble inside. Stupid shoelaces I think to myself. I grab a bag I put by the door and stuff all of the stuff in there.

~~~
For the next few hours, I sat there staring at the ceiling, I fall asleep once for who knows how long. I look at the clock. It seemed an hour had passed since I had last looked at it around 2. Instead of saying 3 is read 8:58. Time sure did fly.
I get up and throw everything I got to make a salad in the bowl. I pour some ranch over it and eat it.
~~~

It was 11:30ish now and the streets were almost empty. I grab a jacket and my bag and walk out of the door.

I arrive at Central Park and stare at the piece of cement that will lead me to a whole other world. A world that lay just beneath my feet. My hands were starting to get clammy

Why am I so nervous? I question I am going to see her. I think of the last time I saw her. I smile. Then, I lift the block and descend into the empty void. That will lead me to her.
