SIX; SHOCK-WAVES

MY PHONE BUZZED IN MY POCKET, making me jump. Bella's contact name flashed on the screen, I held it up to my ear. "Hello?" Alice had just told us that Bella was somewhat in danger, I guess we were about to find out.

"Scarlett! Is Carlisle there?" I looked at him and he nodded, showing me he was listening. Everyone stood round the phone as she spoke.

"I think something's wrong?" I urged her to go on. "I think Edwards in shock"

That was surprising as we all thought Bella would be the one in danger. Carlisle stepped forward and took the phone from my hand. "Is he alright?" Carlisle nodded as Bella spoke, explaining what was going on.

Using my sensitive ears I could hear that Bella was having some difficulties with Edward, that he wasn't responding. She was afraid about her own health and didn't know what to do.

My eyes widened in shock as I heard Bella speak down the phone. "Carlisle, I know it sounds crazy but I think i'm pregnant"

Myself and Alice locked eyes, knowing that perhaps the vision I had might actually be starting to come true. She shook her head as Edward spoke down the phone. "That's not possible?"

There was definitely no way that Bella was pregnant. I mean, Edward was dead. He didn't have any ounce of living inside him let alone get somebody pregnant. It must be some kind of bug that's making it feel like somethings moving. Maybe gas.

"Get Bella on a plane here as soon as possible. I need to examine her" I heard Edward agree on the phone and hang up. It was a shame, they still had a few more days of the Honeymoon to go and it was being cut short by something unknown.

He turned to us. "Edward is bringing Bella home. I'm not quite sure what is wrong but once I take a look at her I can make my professional diagnosis" I trusted him.

I nodded and and pulled my hair out of the hair tie, running my hands through it. "Surely she can't be pregnant right? I mean, that's not an option" It couldn't be. 

"It's extremely rare for our kind. I don't think i've ever met someone in this situation in my lifetime" That didn't fill me with confidence. I believe Carlisle has met everyone under the sun.

By the time Bella had landed back in Forks, you could physically see that her stomach had grown. Edward was still somewhat in shock. Rose and myself attended all of Bella's appointments with Carlisle. It was scary, ill be honest. The fact that nobody had any clue what was happening to her or exactly what was growing inside of her, and it was growing incredibly fast. Within weeks, her tiny body now housed a huge bump.

"Do you want me to get you another drink?" Bella and I sat on the couch watching a movie, her feet were strewn across my lap.

"Scar, i'm fine. Really. If I need anything i'll let you know" She half smiled at me, her bony cheekbones taking up most of her face. I knew I was smothering her, I had been since the very start, but what else was I meant to do? Sit and watch her die? That's the way it was going.

"I know, i'm sorry" She sent me an apologetic look before Carlisle walked in with Rose behind him. My eyes gazed to the clock on the wall. It was 3pm on Tuesday - appointment time.

I gently placed Bella's legs down and onto the floor. Her body was so fragile, I cringed every time I heard a bone break - her ribs took the most hits, the baby stretched her small frame beyond its limits and I feared she would snap soon.

"You ready?" We took our places beside her and she nodded. She couldn't get up by herself, she was too weak and relied on myself and Rose to take her places around the house.

My heart hurt for her. Alice kept calling the baby a killing machine and didn't understand that it was a living thing and not just a sack of cells. Edward, for the first time in his life, looked like he hated Bella, projecting his regret of his own actions onto her. Jake had no clue yet, he still thought she was unwell on her honeymoon. He would have to come by eventually and I was frightened for Edward's life. Jasper was an angel, but he was a man too, him and Emmett wouldn't dare disagree with Rose and me. They did anything we asked them to and stayed out of our way when were with Bella.

We walked with Bella and she winced as we lay her down on the examination table. Carlisle had been taking expert care of her, giving her vitamins, taking bloods, monitoring her. He couldn't have a look at the baby because ultrasounds didn't penetrate the thick embryonic sack. 

"Could you leave us be?" We nodded and left the room, leaving Bella in his capable hands and giving them the privacy that they needed to get things done.

I gently closed the door behind us and turned to Rosalie. "What do you think is going to happen?" She hesitated. "Be honest with me, please"

"Walk with me?" Her hand took mine and we walked over to the balcony, looking over the forest. She drew her lips in a fine line. "I think..I think that it's going to be hard. But, we'll get through it and everything will work out"

I turned to her. "You think so?"

Her head nodded. "I know so. And in a few months when this is all over, we'll have a new member of the family" 

I grinned. There was nothing I wanted more than to have a child. If I had to live through Bella and be a fun auntie, then so be it. "I think so too. This is a blessing and I can't wait to meet whoever it is" I had hoped for a niece, but I suppose a boy would do too.

Her hand grabbed mine. "We will be the best aunties. That child is going to be spoiled rotten"

I threw my head back, laughing. "You know it!"

I'm excited to see Rose and Scarlett's relationship as sisters blossom so i'll definitely be exploring that more. What do you thinks going to happen? Expect the unexpected..
