I looked up from my book at my window to see the boy next door climbing from his tree. I rolled my eyes and saw him running down the street with a beeping watch. My mind wandered to what that boy did every day that was so important for a junk shop.

I heard my door open, showing my step dad walk in. He was always such a dick to me. He was pretty ugly too.

"What do you want, Frank?" I asked bitterly, closing my book calmly.

"Foods ready. Also, you better be nice to your mother or your gonna have to deal with me, brat." He spat, slamming the door. I rolled my eyes and got up.

I walked out the door to see frank and my mom kissing at the counter. Not wanting to see my mom kissing another man, I grabbed my food and went to my room like always. I sat on my bed and pulled out my phone.

I scrolled through the internet. I got a notification from Instagram and opened it, seeing I got a tag from my boyfriend, Travis.

It was a shirtless pic of him. I let out a giggle and commented ❤️🤤. He immediately replied. 😉❤️. I bit my lip and watched as random girls started commenting and calling him hot. This annoyed me a lot.

"Sweetie, me and your father are going out!" My mom yelled.

"He's not my dad!" I yelled back.

"Whatever!" My mom yelled, slamming the front door. Me and my mom would fight a lot because of Frank. He was such a dick to me but a Prince Charming for my mom. It made me sick.

I decided to go for a walk. I walked out of my room and grabbed my coat before walking out of the house. I saw families hanging at the park and decided to sit on the swing set. It was almost dark so there were barely any children out. I swung slightly.

Suddenly a laser almost shot me and I looked at the directing of the shot to see captain man and kid danger fighting someone. I got up as captain man broke the man's arm and threw the laser gun.

Kid danger looked at me as captain man was arresting the criminal. He went up to me with a worried look.

"You okay?" He asked. He sounded familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"I'm fine." I smiled.

"Good." He smiled, nodding slightly as he called the police.

Soon the police arrived to take the criminal to jail. My mom got a call from the police that I was attacked and she was immediately there with an annoyed frank. I looked to see kid danger and captain man joking around.

"Mom, I'm gonna go thank captain man and kid danger." I said, leaving my mother's grip and going up to the two.

"Great job today, kid." Captain man smiled, punching kid danger's shoulder slightly.

"Thanks." Kid danger smiled.

"Excuse me." I said, getting their attention. "I wanted to thank you for not making that criminal almost shoot me with a weird laser gun thingy."

"It's our job, ma'am." Captain man smiled.

"Oh. Please don't call me ma'am. It makes me feel old." I said, cringing. Captain man let out a hearted laugh. "Anyway, I should be getting home."

"Have a safe trip." Kid danger waved. I waved back and went back to my mom. We got into the car and drove all the way home. We made it and my mom went to bed, which left me with Frank.

"You should be more careful." He muttered.

"Why do you care. I saw how you were when you saw me alive." I snapped, about to walk to my room but he grabbed my wrist.

"You should learn not to talk to your father like that!" He yelled, spitting in my face. I made a disgusted look before slapping his arm off and running to my room. I locked the door and played some music.
